I voted out for one reason only: In the UK we vote for a UK Government that is controlled by an un-elected mainly German & French voices.

I think you've missed my point. Some may have voted on the basis that immigration was too high, purely on the numerics. Others may have voted based purely on a xenophobic attitude. It's my contention that the xenophobes tipped the balance.

I forsee a robust Britain emerging. I see assertiveness taking the place of whinging. I see the government perhaps listening to their bosses, the people who vote them into office, because now they know there is anger. And it is directed at those smugly controlling from the penthouse.

People have had enough of the nonsense and that is most likely why Donald is so successful. They'd rather the evil they don't know than put up with spineless orators.

I think this divorce is like dumping the bon bon eating, couch potato half of the union.

          just MHO :)

A report on the news last night.........

A man standing outside two shops, one a Polish shop ( open ) the other an English bakery ( closed down ).

The reporter asked him why he voted out, his reply......

I voted out because of all the foreigners, since they came here and opened their shop, ours has closed down.

What a load of racist abuse. That bakery closed because they weren't going in their to buy their bread/cakes.

I think one has to be careful about individual reports. Whilst valid, everyone has a story to tell. I am however in no doubt, that xenophobic attitudes are still out there.

There are areas of Harlow that are very racist and it's quite likely that they have cherry picked. Having said that, it's the town that I've been working trying to get the people more integrated and it's a lot less racist than it used to be.

Older :old: but not necessarily wiser.

You seem to be forgetting that Boris was MP for Henley for seven years and only resigned his seat to become Mayor of London for eight years.

We don't know that immigration was even the deciding factor no matter what angle we look at it from.

But let's say for a moment that the migration crisis was a major factor. Why? Because people didn't want them to reach Britain? Or perhaps because people didn't like how the eu member states were treating those poor humans like a disease? Or because people didn't like that the eu was bribing Turkey to shoot Syrian children dead? Or some other reason.

Certainly some racists will have voted. Did they tip the balance? Would it be fair to say that for every racist that voted, a liberal couldn't be bothered? I don't know. You don't know. Nobody knows.

Each and every one of us that voted, or abstained, did so for our own reasons. To suggest otherwise is quite honestly to reject and undermine democracy.

I hope racism wasn't the basis for the out vote. There are wonderful people from every country. It is ignorance that barricades one from civil behaviour and choosing barbaric practices or other poor paths.

Canada is having an economic invasion. It has been going on a long time and our current PM Selfie is making things easier for other nationals to simply come in and buy snips of us with no intention of ever becoming Canadian unless a dual citizenship is advantageous to their personal agenda. Go and train to be a ...... then if you get in trouble, call on the Canadian embassy..:rolleyespink:

Luckily we never suffered a political/foreign policy control "union" type of invasion. Because that is what it is. No bullets or bombs. Just a quiet take over... and now you're taking back control again. Cheers!

                          Hail Brittania!

                          Again, just my HO

@CanadianLori , just letting you know, the post of prime minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has been advertised. You have til October to apply. I'm sure many here will support your application.
