It was an embarrassment and they should hang their heads in shame.

Dion Dublin has just said they were rubbish, just rubbish. And the other one said they couldn't even string two passes together.

In reality they should have been beaten 2-0, the only goal they scored was a penalty.

And now they're saying that not one person, whether player or one of the management team will give an interview.

 

Wonder how much the Iceland players earn in comparison to the English squad. Absolutely disgraceful display. A single player can have an off day but a whole team? Maybe as they are so well paid they don't care much that they have let their country down.

 

I dont know what the problem is with England, but someone should point out to the team the actual aim of the game, its to get the ball between the two white posts and under that white bit at the top.
Until they take that on board they can kick the ball around between them as much as they like, but they wont win any games.

sad but true. One has to pay a compliment to the Icelanders, though, for reaching a mildly exciting level of playing.

 

The game was awful. Iceland play like a mid table championship team, so England should have beaten them comfortably. For me England don't play like a team - they aren't equal to the sum of their parts. The worst player on the pitch was Rooney. He should never have been captain and he's been played even when he's played badly (which was a regular occurrence).

Rashford should have been brought on much sooner as he was the only one who showed any creativity. Why didn't he play Stones because the defence were awful?

England now need a manager who can inspire them and also a new captain who can pull the team together. Rooney needs to be dropped. Currently they are just an embarrassment.

Who'd have thought that little old Wales would be the only home nation to make it to the quarter finals? I've got money on Belgium to win the tournament but obviously I'd be delighted if Wales could beat them. Can't see it happening though.
