Silu has hit the nail on the head there Pete. I don't know much about football (and care even less) but I do know that Roy Hodgson has worked miracles in the past with limited resources. So if he couldn't motivate this bunch of overpaid pampered pratts then maybe it is time to start looking two or three divisions lower for national players. What they lack in the technical side will be more than made up for with heart and pride.

 

I had £5 on Iceland to win @ 9:1, and £5 on both teams to score & Iceland to win at 20:1

I also know nothing about football.. but must visit Iceland someday to spend my winnings appropriately.

Italy for me.
I think they're so mentally strong, well organised and have the best defence in the tournament. Either them or Germany.

 

Now that Roy is out of work he could get one at the Royal Mint, as he's the only one that thinks Stirling is of any value.............

 

Here's an idea.

We should let the England football team handle the Brexit negotiations. Then we'd be out of Europe in no time.

 

I think we should have sent the English women's team.

This was the worst performance I've ever seen from an England team.

 

I don't think any single player should be blamed. The whole lot of them are a bunch of failures but the biggest failure is Hodgson (who incidentally is the highest paid manager at the Euros) for failing to inspire a group of talented players. The next manager should be someone who's proven at that level. Gareth Southgate is being mooted as interim manager. Let's hope it is only interim.

 

The trouble is that £145 will only buy you a pint and a takeaway in Reykjavik

 

I heard yesterday that the Iceland manager is a part-time dentist

 

Did I hear right that Hodgson was being paid £3,500,000 pa? Surely not? AND he was moaning about having to face the media. I'd almost be prepared to face a firing squad for that amount.
