    Hello! :yay:,

I've had a mad couple of days at work:phew:, I think yesterday was by far the most frantic!...but I'm not complaining because we got so much done :hapydancsmil:, dare I say we are catching up :th scifD36: & I might manage to work part time for a week at the end of the month??? No I didn't say that ;) I'd hate to tempt fate! :heehee:

I did manage an hour in the garden albeit mostly in the dark! Thank goodness for outside lights hey! :dbgrtmb:

Kev is off to Wales later in the week, he's setting up another show, I think that's the last one .

@moyra you are very much in my thoughts, I hope you are feeling a lot better :grphg:

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone :coffee:

        Aloha everyone,

It's another lovely sunny day  and the sprinkler is already working hard.

Mrs Shiney didn't really enjoy her day up in London yesterday. There were problems with delays and breakdowns and the person she went to meet was so disorganised that it upset her. They were supposed to be going out for lunch but when Mrs Shiney got to the woman's hotel, late, at 1 p.m. she was still floating around in her dressing gown. She said she would just have a quick shower and get ready but then started replying to texts (she spends all her time on the mobile). After fifteen minutes Mrs Shiney told her she was going to go to lunch on her own and started walking towards the door. (We both have a 'thing' about the unsocial intrusion of phones on social events, except when it's important for business, and ban them being used in social company in our house.)

The woman got up and said she would have her shower straight away and started walking to the bathroom with the phone in her hand. Mrs Shiney told her to leave her phone behind whilst having a shower! Apparently, during lunch she kept looking at her phone on the table. So Mrs Shiney was on edge all the time. She has decided not to meet up with her again when she comes to the UK next year. It's too frustrating and so anti-social.

We had a friend, of many years, who had become addicted to her phone and wouldn't go anywhere without it, never turned it off and panicked if it was out of sight! She, and her husband, came up to join us for a few days in the Lake District and after spending the first 45 minutes of our walk, on the first day, doing social texting I told her that she can't walk with us if she doesn't put it away! Her husband, a doctor, told me that she was addicted and I said that I don't care (hard man!) and she's either with us or with her phone. The other days they didn't come out walking with us and our other friends!

        End of rant! :)

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

          Good morning all.

Shiney, that really gets me when I take Amber for a walk all I see is people walking their dogs while they are texting or playing on their phone. No company for the dogs involved. I still have an old fashioned mobile phone and it is rarely on. I only use it to contact Steve if necessary and likewise with my friends if the e-mailing system is down. The modern day phones seem to be glued to their hands! Sorry, I would rather talk to someone better than carrying a phone everywhere. Hope you are feeling better.

Lili do hope all works out for you. You do seem to be under the weather at the moment, please stay safe. Everyone is telling me that I am doing too much so soon after a general anaesthetic but life has to go on and if nobody else will do it things still have to be done. Steve's at work and Amber still needs walking.
Have a good day all, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well, God bless.:wub2:

@moyra I agree, when I went to pick Mrs Shiney up at the station twenty one other people got off the train and all but one were on their phones - either talking or texting. One of them walked into the side of a taxi that had just pulled up! :loll:

                Good morning :),

It's a nice bright day here :dbgrtmb:, did you all get the terrible rain last night? It rained so heavy here the roads were flooded & my windscreen wipers could hardly keep the screen clear :hate-shocked:, the plus side is that I won't need to do much watering this morning & of course the water butts are all full again :dbgrtmb:.

@moyra & @shiney, oh the blinking mobile phone obsession you know it's my pet hate! My phone is always on for work purposes but I keep it on silent most of the time, it vibrates so I know when I have a message, if im in a group I walk way & attend to the phone, BUT I never ever ever answer a call or text or put my phone on a dinner table! That to me is utter rudeness!
I'm sorry to hear Hannah's friend was so rude , mobiles are too much part of people's lives these days.

                Enjoy your day folks :)

                    Goodmorning everyone,
@shiney I never traded up from my "flintsone" flip phone and most of the time it is either forgotten at home and charging or when I have it with me, I forget to turn it on. I love my land lines. People leave messages and I return their calls when I come home. I'll never forget one time I was out shopping and kept hearing this odd noise. Ignored it. And later discovered that it was my mobile ringing :heehee: I think they are a good thing to have when on the road and in case of emergency. :)

Got company coming from out of town today. Looking forward to the visit :)

                    Have a safe day!

                            Aloha everyone,

one, two, three.... - just trying to follow @wiseowl instruction and making it count :blue thumb: :heehee:

Yesterday afternoon we, finally, got some much needed rain here in Shineyland and I'm sure that I heard the garden give a sigh of relief. :)

The sky is now brightening up and I'm having a go at improving my bouncability. :dbgrtmb: I still can't do too much bouncing as it makes me take deeper breathes and that doesn't help my chest problem. It doesn't stop me doing things but I just have to do them a bit slower.

I picked loads of rhubarb tomorrow and managed to sell 35lb of it :blue thumb: Lots more to be picked but it will have to wait. I had to stop picking yesterday because this funny wet stuff started falling out of the sky  so didn't get a chance to empty the wheelbarrow of rhubarb leaves. So that will be my first job out there. Well over 100 rhubarb leaves weighs a lot more than you would think!! They usually weigh a lot more than the rhubarb fruit as most of them are almost 3ft across :noidea:

I've got lots of organising type things to do today and allocating a lot of jobs, diplomatically. :)

Keep well and have a great day.

                            Aloha!

Good Morning everyone, not feeling too good this morning think I may have been overdoing things. Must get Amber out for her walk, there are some things that cannot be left undone such as dog walking.
Shiney take care of that chest.
Have a good day everyone, take care, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well. :wub2:
