Need help, tallish plants for either side of fish pond in garden border

Hey fellow gardener's!

I had some amazing help from you guys in the design and planting of one of my borders in my garden, this one to be precise..

I'm now doing the opposite side (again with the blue slate chippings) but I am having a free standing pond in the middle of the border this one..

The thing is I would like to have some nice green plants to grow up either side of the pond, that would have interest all year long but not grow to an excessive height. The height of the pond is 63cm I think so not much higher than that really if possible. I just want them to mask the sides of the pond that's all and then maybe drape slightly over the edge, but I haven't a clue on what plants that would be, can anyone possibly help me?

The rest of the border I'm going to have a mixture of reds and orange flowers I think.

 

I would like to achieve something like this either side..

I know these are reeds in water but that's the sort of look I'm after, the soft gentle look.

 

I'd go for some native riverside plants like Meadow Sweet & Figwort, with some actual Bullrushes, they're only about a foot high, not to be confused with Reedmaces as most folk do since a painter painted them into "Moses in the Bullrushes"

 

I looked these up they are nice but am I right in thinking these need to be planted from seeds? I would like to plant something that's already potted if possible.

Any ideas what these plants are in these two photos, I quite like the one that's climbing the fence behind the pond

Ive just bought two of these because I liked the look of them but didn't know what they were? I posted a pic on here for ID and it turns out the are a pond / bog plant but they look great.
