I posted, here on GC, a 'best wishes' message from Kristen a few weeks ago. It was in my Open Day thread. :blue thumb: (Just looked back on P1 of this thread and I also mentioned it there :))

He's well, working extremely hard and his garden is still developing.

          • Wow how posh knowing this plant's name @Zigs. I've always thought of it as a Dandelion that's been on a diet as it's not so fluffy:). Cerainly hadn't got a clue what it was called.

            Like it @silu :snork:

This one's about 3 foot tall, so if you're thinking of the ones that are about Dandelion size, they're Low Calorie Hawkweeds :spinning:

Orange Hawkweed or "Grim the Collier" is one of our few orange coloured wildflowers. Not seen it down here but there was a lot of it where I used to live in Wales :spinning:

My god you really are a fund of knowledge @Zigs, whether it's useful or not is debatable:lunapic 130165696578242 5:. Spot on, I was indeed thinking of Hawkweeds (didn't know that was what it was called either). I will enjoy showing off to my neighbour the next time she pops round. Instead of my usual " Oh .......... look at all those ........yellow Dandylion thingies which have popped up everywhere, I'll announce with aplomb that I have some lovely specimens of Scorzonera or Hawkweed depending on size. That'll put her gas at a peep as she is always spouting Latin plant names at me and looks very snooty when I don't know them:).

What the ....is that? Potato something? Do I detect something which might be rude? or on the same lines as glass hammer, tartan paint, collect verbal contract??????
I've got this uneasy feeling I may regret asking the question. Bit like you just know the wrong answer hooter is going to sound when a panalist on QI gives an obvious answer. I'm off out to water my large brood of Tomatoes (40 in my greenhouse). I'll dare to see if you have replied @Zigs when I come back in!

Zigs is doing his usual wind up! :heehee:

But, @silu I'm sure you'll find plenty of Silybum marianum near you. We have them in our garden and they come from your area. :dbgrtmb:

Guessed as much that there would be something rude involved. I have been called many things but a prehistoric bird isn't 1 of them......however come to think of it:). To make matters worse Laurel then joins in with Hardy. Shame on you both teasing a little defenceless OAP.:)
