@wiseowl - looks very nice. Your yard looks to be very very deep and must keep you in constant gardening mode judging by how tidy it is! :)

Mr S. trotted off down the drive to find out who was disturbing our evening peace with some sort of power tool. Believe it or not one of our stupid neighbours was trimming a hedge with a petrol strimmer and no eye or ear protection! Madness!

I spent this afternoon giving my shed a clear out, it's nearly twice the size inside now.

Tipping it down here too, was going to add some bedding plants to large pots in the front garden as the bulbs have all finished, will see if the rain eases off a bit. Luckily did the hedge(birds now vacated nests) and the lawns yesterday, forecast is for 20 degrees on Tuesday, I'll believe that when I see(feel) it.

            Hi Burnie,
You're welcome to our weather , we've had two days where we've had a half decent amount of rain in two months ( by half decent I mean one step up from drizzle for about hour and half up to two hours ).
And our forecast for Tuesday is horrendous, between 32 and 34 deg.

I've all but give up on my Fuchsias now for this year except for the ones planted as a mini - hedge.

It's too grey/windy looking for me out there.. did run out and pinch my first pea pod though, could have swollen up a bit more but sweet and tasty! Will be cleaning the house instead of potching with my pots today ..again, boo!

Horrendous? @Anthony Rogers I love hot weather, I'll have a share please! I need sun for my Dahlias!

Did some watering and feeding early this morning, and a quick hoe around the veg plot.

After that, sat in the shade reading the Sunday paper and listening to the cricket.

Did nothing else in the garden today, too hot. :phew:

Its been a lovely day here, mowed the lawn treat myself to a sprinkler i was fed up with walking around with the hose, i know watering is not recommended when its hot but i always do it and it doesn't appear to harm it.

Managed to get some fushias and dahlias in the pots in between the rain showers, seems Tuesday will be our only dry day of the week, think I'll go fishing on that day.

Had sun Monday and Tues :yay: so moved a pile of wood up the back, set the pool up on the patio and have done nothing since! Been dry and cloudy last 2 days so mowing the grass in a bit and pulling my spuds up, gonna give everything a good drink and hope the sun will break the clouds up some :blue thumb:

We keep being threatened with rain, according to the forecasters, but it never comes.

So I started today with watering the veg bed (was supposed to be thundery all night, but zilch). It will need to be done again this evening. Pulled up my broad bean plants, they stopped growing again at 1 foot high - won't bother with them again! Picked some mangetout and runner beans. Then cut the grass = 2 hours of sauna work!! Having a pause now, before going back out there to get some more stuff done.
Chilli (Apache and cayenne) picking, lawn edging, weeding and hedge cutting will be on the to-do list for this afternoon!
