Has has absolutely no relevance to anything. If I was in an aeroplane and the vote was whether or not I should jump out, and I voted no but everyone else voted yes, as I achieve terminal velocity I would not be thinking to myself, I voted not to jump so I'm not going to deploy my parachute. I have no interest whatsoever in arguing the pros and cons of voting either way, or my reasons for reaching the decision is reached. I sincerely hope that those in power are also equally disinterested in that. Because that is something that can't be changed. What is relevant now is where we're at and where we're heading. I do hope that any negotiations are not clouded by politicians saying daft things like 'before this monumental change of circumstances, you said this'.
Well, Owen Smith, who has thrown his hat into the ring to challenge Corbyn for leadership has said he would, if in Government, initiate a second EU referendum within the next 18 months. That's a prime example of a Politician not liking the result of a vote and wanting to keep holding a vote until they get the answer they want..........now why does that make me think of somebody North of the border??. Luckily, the Labour Party is now in desperate straits, with the present unwanted and ineffectual, in my opinion, Leader likely to win the Leadership challenge, and the Labour Party likely to split with no chance of getting in Government for at least a decade.......and I say that as a lifetime Labour voter
Re a second referendum, Merkel and her ilk have already said they will not accept the result of another one. We have voted out, so out we are going. In my opinion, the sooner the better.
Why are we doing this to ourselves?? All the uncertainty needs to stop. Speculation of a second referendum needs to stop and I'd also like to see the suggestion of a general election, in the near future, to be set aside.
Still not found any more euros with the metal detector but I have secured a trade deal with Antarctica
Well, the more people quiver and quake at the "unknown" instead of getting on with leaving the EU and trading with the World the more I get frustrated, Pete. But, if you skim the froth of unneeded panic, indecision, changing of views, fretting, agonising over it, then we just have to recognise and remember that David Davison is in charge of the Brexit, Liam Fox is in charge of trade negotiations..........that is the real situation and all the Media hype, the questioning and stirring of political mud, will not stop the Brexit.
If the Scottish Dwarf has her way she will try to put a stop to us going out until she gets Independance for Scotland
I heard today she said she thinks Scotland can remain part of the UK and at the same time still be in the EU. I think she needs to get negotiating pretty quick.
According to the EU it will take two years, at least, to negotiate trading agreements after Article 50 is triggered, pete. But, as I've said earlier, business and money will carry on as before, money following money, UK and EU business trading as before, because the EU member countries cannot afford, or want to, change that situation.
I wondered that myself. Whether baguettes should be sliced open down the side or along the top? Whether hairy armpits should be denied or celebrated? Or perhaps whether it's ever acceptable to eat a snail, and whether the addition of garlic and herbs changes the fact that it is in fact a self propelled crusty bogey.
While Germany is banging their chest and Italy and france are watching nervously knowing that they will be in deep do do when we do pull out, maybe we should take the bull by the horns and say we will NOT trade with Europe from now on unless they get round the negotiating table tomorrow
