    Cheers no need for rooting powder I take it, will give it a bash :blue thumb:

    It is only me eating the things mind! This is my 3rd attempt at toms so no competition growing going on here lol or seed saving ..still got loads left.

      Pull them off, use secateurs if necessary to make a clean cut.

      Yes - stopping now means the last truss should just about ripen by late September.

        Assuming this is the old compost in containers then you can re-use it but not on potatoes or tomatoes. I spread mine around the base of flowers. roses, shrubs etc.

          My outdoor ones are looking really good to my eyes. Probably the best I've ever had. Did have a 'blightwatch' warning yesterday though :fingers crossed:

            They do look good Freddy, loads of flowers - hope that pesky Blight stays away.

                    Not as yet. You think I should? There are usually quite a few warnings of the 'right' conditions for blight, but it doesn't normally show up until later? I've got a good supply of BM :thumbsup:

                      Morning all can anyone please give me some advise my tom plants are losing about half there flowers to blossom drop would I be right in thinking its lack of Nitrogen ? Any advise would be gratefully recived many thanks in advance

                      The flowers drop off after pollination naturally - or are you saying the flowers are dropping and no little fruit left behind?

                      Assuming the latter then don't go feeding with nitrogen that will make it worse, you need a high potash fertiliser such as Tomorite (I go for the much cheaper Wilkos version).

                      A photo would help us give better advice.

                      Some flowers are falling and leaving fruit but only about half the others just go brown and fall. Have been feeding tomorite and seaweed tea they look healthy

                      They look OK to me. So they are indoors? It would help to mist the flowers twice a day (morn/evening) and keep them well ventilated - they will need shade from the sun if they are facing south as it will be too hot for them especially in this heatwave. Keep an eye on temperatures.

                      There out side south facing raised bed they get full sun until430pm will they still need shade being outside ? Many thanks
