Sorry Scrungee, but I do not understand that, as a well cooked TITH will not be soggy.

So in case my earlier comment was not clear, the liquid in the batter ie the water/milk or water and milk can be part replaced with a good beer to hearten and enrich the overall dish without affecting either rise of the batter or it's final crispy lovliness. Much the same as a good beer batter used for fish frying.

    Steve...:)

Trouble is they don't cooperate when you're trying to persuade them to get in the dish.

I may be wrong, but I think Scrungee was saying to substitute the Yorkshire pudding for a beer (e.g. a 100% substitution) not the actual liquid content of the batter :heehee:
Beer batter is lovely though

If you really think about it you can fill a Yorkshire pudding batter with pretty much anything you would throw into an omelette, the only real difference between the two is flour and how it is cooked/served.

What about a variation on fish in batter, fish fingers toad in the hole?

Or a variation on a traditional Scottish recipe, Mars Bars toad in the hole?
