    Hi,

I recently planted some plants in a border on my garden and put top soil on and have been watering for the last few weeks.

The soil has turned quite hard and green moss like. I'll try and attach a photo. The plants dont seem to be doing that well either and the water doesn't seem to absorb too well.

Is there something I need to do here? Maybe more top soil?

What top soil, "J", did you use.?, and have you tried using a garden hand tool to break up the hard pieces?

It could be lack of sun, I'm guessing those are in the shade?

You need to till the soil, to let some air in.
