I haven't bothered to check where the list comes from but they do mention the two types of chilli that I use - Naga and Tabasco.

There are supposed to be well over 2,000 varieties but I think there are many more now. Most of them come from much fewer base varieties but get new names when a breeder crosses, or develops, a new version of it.

I have at least 5 on this list growingright now. Andthe breadmaker just beeped at me that the hot beer bread dough is ready. Got the wood oven fired up and ready to bake. (It is too hot to bake indoors today) :)

That is why having a spouse sometimes works toward a better nights sleep. Hear a mosquito? Flip the covers off spouse to give it an alternate target ...:heehee:

Agreed but just as with many other plant groups, I like to grow different strains. I guess peppers are to me, as roses are to others. I like the variety of colours and shapes :)

I grow mostly chinense. I have one annuum which is the orange JalapeƱo and one wild variety which is the Galapagoenese. I think most of mine are hybrid types also !
