      We're the opposite. We don't open our windows much and don't leave them, doors, open if we're in the garden. Too much wildlife likes coming in - cats, squirrels, meeces, the occasional bird, wasps, bees, butterflies, mozzies and other flying insects and even a rabbit, once. :hate-shocked:

        No danger of that Shiney, I'd already planned my route and I gave it a wide berth. :biggrin:

          Think I missed something here - windows without insect screening are very rare over here and we have retractable or sliding screens for our back doorways - is it the opposite your side of the pond? :scratch:

            @CanadianLori

            I don't know of anyone here who has insect screens as we rarely have much problem here. They may have them in parts of Scotland where they get a lot of midges but I haven't seen them.

            I, also, don't know anyone who has screens on their back doors. :noidea:

            It's interesting to find out about things you wouldn't normally think of. :blue thumb:

            Over here we still have mail delivered to the door (except in certain circumstances) and in rural areas like ours the postman will take our outgoing mail as well. All we have to do is leave it sticking out of the letterbox on our front door and he'll take it when he's delivering.

            Milk deliveries are still possible in most areas, with the milkman bring it in proper glass bottles - but it's almost twice the price of the milk in cartons in the supermarket. When we first moved here the milkman did his rounds in a horse drawn cart. :hate-shocked:

                    Aloha everyone,

                    I've been getting a lot done in the garden but not as much as @wiseowl has. :)

                    More weeding and mowing - and harvesting - to do today as well as paperwork and going into town to do shopping and see some of my 'girls' (ex-employees). :blue thumb: Barbeque tonight - not in Shineyland.

                    Sprinkler is on and blackbirds are playing in the spray. :)

                    Keep well and have a great day :biggrin:

                    Aloha!

                      Good morning early birds!

                      Speaking of birds, I'm noticing that the dawn chorus isn't so loud or varied at this time of the year.

                      Today is my 4th anniversary as a GC member - crikey, tempus fugit!

                      Healing vibes for all in need of them and miles of smiles for all xxMxx
