      Aloha everyone,

      We have conflicting weather forecasts today. :scratch: From hot and sunny to overcast and warnings of heavy rain. About par for the course :doh:

      Although it was less humid yesterday it was exceptionally hot in the sun whilst I spent an hour and a half picking beans. :phew: But that was balanced by having sold them all last night. :blue thumb:

      Yesterday evening we gave an impromptu invite to friends to come to dinner tonight so I popped into the all night Tesco on my way home from bridge at 11.30. I worked out my menu whilst walking round the store. :) So we're having chicken liver pate for starters. Made it at 3 a.m. this morning (butter, onion, herbs, brandy and single cream). The rest of the meal will be simple, with roast chicken, roast spuds (King Edwards) and an enormous pile of runner beans. This will be followed by fresh fruit cocktail (melon, strawbs and mango).

      The sun is up and it's looking particularly peaceful out there. So I shall go out and join the birds as they welcome the morning.

      Keep well and have a great day :biggrin:

      Aloha!

        Morning early people :)

        Misty start, looks like it'll brighten up though.

        Off into town after breakfast to claim my prize money :yes:

        Have a good day everyone and happy Lyndon Baines Johnson Day to all our Texan members :)

            Good day everyone
            Scurrying around this morning getting laundry done and up on the lines and things tidied. I need to have all done by 10 as I promised my son that at that time we would get the cement rubble and stone out of his little back yard and off to the dump. Must remember to pack gloves and a rake... figure 2-3 trips will be required. Thank goodness I'm only in my 60's :phew:

            Have a safe day everyone :)

                Morning all, hope everyone is well this morning.

                Gradually getting back into the swing of things after arriving home on Friday night from a week in the south of France.

                Did a bit of catching up and harvesting in the garden yesterday, our house-sitter did a good job of looking after things while we were away. :)

                Looks like the chickens have had a day out in the garden at some time during the week, she must have forgotten to shut the gate one morning before she went off to work. No real harm done though, just a few pecked lettuces and a bit of scratching around. :chicken:

                Everything is looking very dry now, doesn't look like there's been any significant rain while we were away. No need to mow the lawn when I got home, it's mostly brown now.

                Have a good day and enjoy your Sunday.

                    Aloha everyone,

                    @Trunky

                    Lucky you didn't come home yesterday as you would still be in your car! A bridge collapsed across the M20 (hit by a lorry).

                    No rain in Shineyland for six weeks. :sad:

                    @moyra

                    Go back to bed :blue thumb:

                    We had a good time last night with friends for dinner. We were sitting outside at 8 p.m. having our dinner. :dbgrtmb:

                    Keep well and have a great day :biggrin:

                        Yep, a day later and we would have been caught up in that. By the time we got on the M20 on Friday evening we'd already been on the road for twelve hours, with two more to go. :phew:

                            Good day everyone
                            Our weather guessers are going way out on a limb predicting 51% chance of a thunderstorm today so I guess I'll have to do some watering.:rolleyespink:

                            Very much surprised that my muscles aren't stiff today as my son and I took many 12" x 12" x18" solid cement blocks to the dump yesterday and several containers of gravel. Then he had old bicycles and broken ladders etc which needed to be disposed of too. I think I shall check my back cheeks to see if there is a tail growing there since I seem to be as tough as a donkey :scratch:

                            Today I need to move some of my potted plants around and also sort through the pots my son brought round yesterday after they had a good clearing out of their garage too. I will visit my friend in the home early this afternoon and then after visit my friends at the pub. :Wino:

                            Have a safe day everyone :)

                                Now why couldn't they have done that when I first took out the contract? :scratch:
