Got home lunchtime, put another bag on compost away, and checked in my plants, 2 peppers and 3 pot of parsley have been eaten unfortunately the shiny slime has given it away, but I can't find the blighter.

@Kimberley the little so and so has probably gone off to somewhere else round your garden to see what other tasty plants it can nosh,so you can either go out after dark with a torch to see if you can spot them or you go down the slug pellet or copper tape route to try and kill them off.

When we have lots of hot dry weather they like snails tend to go into hiding as they don't like being dried out so for slugs they will probably hide under largish leaves (big enough to cover their bodies) and will wait until damp conditions come about possibly in the early mornings when there is dew on the ground.

When I am gardening,if I find any slugs or snails I pick them up with my gloved hand and pop them into my green recycling bin, although when I go way on holiday I have had to resort to slug pellets this year or else they would nosh everything in the garden.

It is probably Keel slugs Kandy. They live in the ground and only come out at night.

                      :ideaIPB:

Take a bit of gaffa tape, stick the end of it to the side of your pot, then flip it back on itself so it is sticky side out; next, wrap it around the pot tightly and stick the other end to hold it (fold the end the right way leaving a wee flap to stick it to the pot). Next, drizzle a line of table salt all around the ring of gaffa tape.

Slugs - on QVC the other day - the bloke said they retreat underground during the day - which is why you can't find the little blighters.
