My Cucumbers/Cabers have been totally amazing this year for some unknown reason. I have just picked this 1 as I was afraid the string holding the plant up would break under the weight. There are another 3 of similar size plus loads more small ones still to pick. They are delicious to eat despite their size but the family are getting a little tired of them being on the menu.
This 1 is 21 inches long and 9 inches in circumference. Doubt my Onions are going to trouble the growing competition entrants but these have been rather good.

Hi silu, That's a beauty! Do you like tzatziki? I've been steadily using our glut of cucumbers by making a big bowl of tzatziki and one of Greek salad every day for the last 6 weeks.:blue thumb:

Oh brilliant @noisette47 . I made Tzatziki years ago and had forgotten all about it. Have plenty of home grown Garlic and Mint. No Dill, what do you think about either Parsley or Basil as a substitute? Not really very similar are they? Perhaps you don't use Dill? Sure I used to. Going to pay a visit to the supermarket tomorrow and get some Greek Yoghurt. Yum.

My tzatziki recipe is pretty basic.....salt chopped cucumber, leave to drain. Mix garlic into yoghurt, add chopped mint or cumin powder (whatever is available) and mix in drained cucumber. VoilĂ  as they say
Mmmm gazpacho too, J McH. Ideal for using the surplus, as is ratatouille put into Kilner jars and sterilised, when you've got a glut of toms, courgettes and aubergines. Fantastic for a quick pasta/moussaka/chilli con carne/ paella.

Gazpacho was on the cards once the Tomatoes got into overdrive which is now happening big style as are the Courgettes, Thanks both @noisette47 and @Jack McHammocklashing, kitchen is a hive of industry atm. Spent ALL day bottling Beetroot and haven't even made a dent in the bed where it's growing. I think I may have overdone the sowing this season!:) Have run out of jars and vinegar:thud:.

Quite right, silu. Juvenile behaviour ought not to be encouraged.

                        On a more serious note...

                        Behold the mighty prickles.

Apparently, the French call them "chatouillant baguettes". I have no idea why.

                          Tickling sticks......well, yes, quite!
What a depressingly well organised and healthy set-up you do have, @misterQ. There are my poor old downy-mildew ridden plants sprawling around on the earth in the polytunnel, but eight weeks on, still managing to produce 5 a day. Out of the six plants I grew, all purporting to be F1 baby, female, spineless cukes, only one is strokeable:scratch:
