That's good, where I grow blight normally goes straight through everything on about 1.5 acres.

Same with me in the past, I'm beginning to think that the experimental spraying with Aspirin has made mine more resilient against Blight.

I have lost all faith in Blight Watch, every [1] time I go away for a few days they wait until I've gone then send me a full smith period alert, getting me all worried and nothing ever comes of them, but every time I actually get Blight it's been after a total absence of warnings.

[1] I've had a few warnings at other times, all when several days of continuous heavy rain has been forecast making spraying with Bordeaux Mixture impossible, I think they are trying to wind me up.

Heartbreaking....my blight has spread into the main bed. I took the infected plants out, harvesting as many as might ripen. Went back out a couple of hours later and noticed tell-tale brown patches on the stems of a couple more plants.

I'm not sure, but it seems like blight is much more prevalent these days?

My outdoor plants have shrugged off the Blight with the help of Bordeaux Mixture and Aspirin spray, just picked my first of San Marzano (the last of my varieties to ripen):

                      ... and dehydrating them:

My Tomatoes have really benefitted from the great weather in August. I Gazpachoed 8 kgs of these 3 days ago and now got about another 5 kgs to do something with. If I lived on a road with a fair amount of passing traffic I think I would set up a little stall!
Just such a pity you can't spread the production out over a longer period. I'd love to have a plate of these fresh on Christmas Day.

Biggest tomato so far this year, 2lbs 8ozs

                            tom biggest 2016.jpg

To give an idea of size, those scales are 200mm wide. It may look green in the pic, but it's showing it's first flush of colour meaning it's at it's heaviest weight and all the seeds will be viable when the tomato finishes ripening.

It was only grown in a pot (ready for emergency blight alert evacuation), so hoping for much bigger ones next year when I grow a whole 6 x 3m polytunnel full of them grown in prepared soil borders.

No they keep for months in an airtight bag, then I just take a few out at a time and soak in oil and/or vinegar for a few minutes, great with a salad. The flavour becomes really intense.
