Hey come on guys give me a chance:). I've just lifted mine. Was all proud at the size of some of them. Weighed and measured the biggest, come in to post my magnificent results on GC then....... Read the weight and girth size of yours, talk about a deflated balloon:roflol:.Well my biggest is 840 grms and girth just a smudge over 14 ins. Weight also including lots of greenery -AND it tipped it down last night so they are very wet! I would have left them a bit longer but going away for a week so thought best to lift them.
I'll try again next year, just hope the necks aren't too fat to store well and they taste good! image.jpeg image.jpeg

      Nice one Silu :)

My biggest is only 412 grams.

Had them drying in the cold frame for a week. DSCI1118.JPG

Short of being grown IN the manure heap, mine got plenty, maybe too much! Part of my "mistake" is that the seed didn't get sown until beginning of April which is a bit late I think. Will sow earlier next year. I used Unwins exhibition seed as that was what I had. As long as they store well and taste good I'm happy to let you lot take all the glory:).
Haven't heard "gert" for a long time @Freddy . I went to school in Somerset and have fond memories of the West Country accent. The bus driver who took us to school always said to us each morning "how be on" well that's what it sounded like anyway!

:) checked out the link:snorky:. Hell wish I'd known that garlic wards of B harvest mites. Bought some small hay bales straight off a field a few years back and stored them in neddy's stable. Omg EVERYWHERE was covered in harvest mites about 3 days later. There must have literally millions of the damned things. Every time you went into the stable you ended up crawling with them...yuk yuk and yuk again! Went onto hayledge after that episode. Hope you enjoy your Birthday breakfast looks yummy.
