IMG_0256.JPG IMG_0257.JPG Popped into a supermarket yesterday and after Mr Kandy paid for the shopping he was presented with one of these in his change.Has anyone else received any yet and if so what do you think to them?I like the fact that the Queens face looks like a negative when the £5 note is held up to a light and you can read the word Blenheim as in Blenheim Palace the birth place of Winston Churchill who appears on the back of the note.

A lot of people are donating them to charity so not sure if they think they are just a novelty:scratch:

Looks like I shall have to buy a smaller purse now as no doubt they will look lost in the one I have:snorky: Oh and once they are bent out of shape they appear not to want to go flat again:biggrin:

Got my first one on Thursday - it was book club at the local and the barmaid made a big thing of telling me I was getting a *new* fiver in my change :heehee: I couldn't get quite as excited about it as she appeared to be :rolleyespink:

Mr "M" has one in his wallet, but, I only found out about it last week at a charity event when I needed some change. #1 son dropped him in it when he told me, "He's got a plastic fiver but he wants to keep it"; to which I replied: "'I want's', don't get and 'can-I-have' is greedy!" :roflol:

To be very honest, I've not really "looked" at it since I got it on Thursday

PS: No, wait! I can't look at it ... ... I gave it to #1 son as part of his train fair to a job interview today!!
*Sighs*: in one hand and out the other!

I just wonder what the makers of this stuff will be getting up to in the near future.

If this plastic stuff lasts so much longer, I'm guessing they are putting themselves in the redundancy queue.

In which case, they would be recycled into £1 notes ;)

Yay!! A return of the (proper) pound!!!!!! :hapydancsmil:

Now there's something to look forward to :heehee:

I still say we should have gone down the £5 coin route.

Make it small so everyone loses them.

Think of the money we could save.

You can check for fakes by burning them, if you get high it's genuine, if not it's a fake
