I've been looking to replenish my stock of 'wet and forget' a-like - and ended up purchasing 4 litres of Jeyes Patio Power for £8 - which is the same price as the Wilkinson's own brand.

I had to delve into the bowels of the building department to find it.

Noticed on the way out that strategically positioned at the entrance to the building department was 2.5 litres of the same Jeyes product for £10.

I wonder how many people have been caught out with this one?

B&Q are being very naughty - they should be next to each other.

The whole area inside their entrances are becoming full of heaps/bins full of 'bargains' with hand written signs to make them look like cheap market goods, only they aren't cheap.

Its the same at Bunning, mock handwritten price signs advertising expensive product.A bit cheaper than the outgoing Homebase maybe but not much difference really. Theres a lot of pile it high sell more plastic.

        Just a side line slightly.
But I wanted to buy a couple of new radiator valves at the weekend so went to the local Wickes.
They had about three on display and some very pricey empty boxes on the shelf.
All looked like they had been there since the year dot.

B&Q is just over the road so I had a look in there, they had lots of choice soi bought a couple in there.
Usually I steer clear of B&Q, but on this occasion I was surprised.

B&Q are not the only ones, clanless, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury, Morrisons etc have been using "smoke and mirrors" marketing techniques for years. They seem to believe that the general public are easily "conned" with "Bargain" and "Special Offers" signs and labels and will buy anything if it's marketed right:doh:.
I stopped buying from all of them years ago just because of their deceitful marketing methods that seems to think we are all Village Idiots and only use discount stores or local shops now. B&Q get normally one visit a year from me to buy 10 to 15 bales of their peat added General Purpose Compost which is usually consistently good.:coffee::dunno::snorky:

My experience is with Asda and Morrisons food markets, PEOPLE must be stupid, or in too much of a hurry, Many times I see stuff £1.29 each Two for £2.99, and the £2.99 shelf is almost empty

Screw fix, "screw" being the operative word,
Yep good if you want 10 of anything.
Rubbish if you only want one, and you need to look elsewhere, as often the odd item is way overprice.

Fair enough. Its funny how things happen,i was in wickes last year and I got 2 bags of 10 radiator valves for 10p a bag, nuts. I guess its a case of shopping æbout because no one place is cheapest or best.:rolleyespink:

Never had a problem buying single items from Screwfix . Prices are very good - it only takes 5 minutes Googling to find target prices . I use click and collect so when I arrive at the store it only takes 3 minutes . We all know they are part of the B n Q group , but they do price independently . So where is better than Screwfix ?

There are some cheap trade places around here. You need to produce current invoices from utilities and suppliers as well as headed paper from your 'company' before being able to get a card - and the card has to be presented to sign in and at the tills. :blue thumb:

I know people who produce the paperwork for themselves on their computer. :th scifD36:
