The Osprey Pole, as they (the visiting Ospreys) have gone a Cormorant decided it was a good resting place.
It is across the channel at Arne RSPB which is crawling with BBC cameramen and everything to do with Autumn Watch being filmed here. The Spoonbill did what Spoonbills do and went to sleep.

    Canada Geese.

First Fieldfares, I came across one on the Rowans and as soon as it saw me, flew off with another 20 into a distant tree.

I finally found my first Yellow Browed Warbler @Kandy in a tree with Blue Tits at Arne RSPB. I only just got this one 'record' shot as it was backlit and so easy to miss!
As you know it's an odd migrant as it doesn't return through the UK in Spring on it's way to Finland/Siberia.

Great find @strongylodon and glad you managed to get a photo of it:blue thumb: We went for a walk up at the old Airfield yesterday afternoon and we met a lady who is one of the county ringers and she was told that yesterday morning a Yellow Browed Warbler was seen with a flock of Long Tailed Tits in trees on the airfield but by the time she got there in the afternoon it had vanished. At least we have seen one so it is not too much of a worry for us and I expect it has moved on now:smile:

Had a swarm of Ladybirds try and get into the car yesterday afternoon, they were also all over the outside and all over me, must have been a couple of hundred of them, wondered if they were swarming up and looking for somewhere to hibernate together before the much colder weather arrives next week.

I was going to start a new thread on ladybirds because the past couple of days I've noticed a lot of them on my rear wall and around my back door.

Anything particular I can do which would give them a good place to hibernate?

There were loads on the railings where we were working the other day too.

Tie a bundle of hollow sticks together and put it in a sheltered bit near them, out of reach of Ozzy mind

Winter must be on the way as we got a little snow, and now we have the snow birds, slate colored juncos.

We had an absolute plague at our visit to Anglesey Abbey today quite a novelty and talking point. They were in everyone's hair and lunch. They must breed in the grounds and just loving the sunshine.

@hydrogardener I remember seeing Juncos at the Grand Canyon some years ago feeding around a Mule pen. Do you get Cardinals as Canadian Lori does?
