Its terrible around here tonight, still a week to go before the 5th and the local chavs, who aint got two ha'pennies to rub together from their benefits, are out in force.

The neighbours dog is barking non stop, hate to think what its doing to the wildlife.

I think they should be kept to public displays. Too easy for teens to get their hands on (speaking from experience) One was set off in the day when I was driving yesterday, shat them.

I must be honest and say we have been quite quiet this year, even so I have 2 plug in adaptil diffusers going, refilled both twice and will keep them going until after New Year, she is wearing her "thundershirt" every time we go out, I have Maddie booked in kennels for a week from Wednesday until the following Tuesday, they are very isolated and inform me they don`t see or hear fireworks, ditto my friends staffie down the road. To put a price on our and our dogs sanity, it has probably has and will cost me more than some have spent on their blasted fireworks.

 

I'm all for people having fun times but it seems nowadays that so many folk can't do so without causing mayhem to others...football fans being an example. I think it might be better if there were just organised bonfire parties. That said no doubt if it became illegal to buy fireworks it would just start up a black market in them!
Blissfully there are no fireworks around here to bother either us, the horse or the farm animals At our previous house the next door neighbours (very wealthy and zero interest in being neighbourly) had the firework party to end all firework parties. I thought world war 3 had started. Upshot? our pony coliced from fright, had to get the vet out at 2am and we worked on the pony for over 8 hours to try and avoid him having to have colic surgery which seldom has a good outcome. The pony recovered but was never just quite the same. My bank balance was damaged to the tune of £500+ all for a few damn stupid loud bangs and bloody rockets.
