Yes, we have Cardinals all year, and, I am beginning to see Carolina wrens at the feeder. They are a long way from home here in New York.

@hydrogardener our native Wren here is mainly an insect eater and is very rarely seen on feeders.

The distant white line in the pic is 600+ Avocets, increasing weekly and may reach 1000 by December. Once the tide recedes they start feeding in the channel, I could only see them when the fog lifted!

The feeder has a cake consisting of peanuts and suet. It draws a lot of different species.

Since moving up here I've been absolutely fascinated by the amount of geese flying over. I didn't realise just how late some are leaving. Would they be youngsters? I've been told there are eighteen pairs of Red Kites here where I live, I've spotted a couple but yet to get shots of them.

I have a mental block with the birds in the following three pictures, I know they are Red- something or others. I can't get to my bird book as it's still in a box somewhere yet to be unpacked, so can somebody put me straight please? :) I've been reading a wildlife column in the local paper and a few weeks ago the writer said these birds were late to appear this year. They arrived this last week though, ready to strip the Rowans of berries. The fourth pic is obviously a Chaffinch.

Black-capped chickadee. These little guys are almost fearless. I have had them land on my head, waiting for their turn when I am filling the feeder. If you stand real still with seed in your hand, they will land and take the seed from your hand.

I've got the regulars who come every day to feed on the Bird Feeders but nothing out of the ordinary or in great numbers, Jiffy.
