    Hi All,

Not posted for a while, loads going on bar gardening.

I have no room to make a leaf bin for leaf mould. But was wondering if I collect them and put them on the beds in the greenhouse do you think that this would benifit them?

    Regards
    Rusty

It's best to let the leaves rot outside first. Leaves can take up to two years to rot down properly unless assisted (other green stuff, grass cuttings, rotting agents such as Garotta, horse manure if possible and, above all, water).

    Hi Shiney,

Thanks for the reply. I have nowhere to store outside. I thought that if I put on the surface the worms would take them down and doctorate stuff. I am going to get manure aswell and mulch over winter.

    Regards
    Rusty

I'm not sure it rot down quick enough for you to be able to make use of it. If you're able to shred the leaves it would speed things up for you.

Or store them in bin bags with holes punched in them.

Good to see you posting again
Could you use them on the floor of your chicken run? The chooks would have a field day scratching around plus, their droppings would accelerate the rotting down process. Just a thought.
