It is that time of year again, when the little books of dreams land on our doormats, and the related websites tempt us with the lure of having a beautiful garden next year.

I have gotten in a bit early for next year, having placed a couple of orders over the past few days, and reckon that I am pretty much sorted for next year, having ordered:

    • Amaranthus Hot Biscuits
    • Asarina Summer Snow
    • Dahlia Redskin
    • Dahlia Cactus Flowered Mixed
    • Geranium Summertime Mixed
    • Lavatera Mont Blanc
    • Lavatera Beauty Mixed
    • Nicotiana Only The Lonely
    • Petunia F1 Supercascade Mixed
    • Parsley Moss Curled
    • Potato - Charlotte
    • Courgette Defender F1
    • Cucamelon
    • Pea Alderman
    • Cosmos Daydream
    • Calendula Indian Prince
    • Marigold (French, double)
    • Aster Ballon Yellow
    • Tomato Cuor di bue
    • Nicotiana Whisper F1 Mixed
    • Zinnia Early Wonder Mixed
    • Maskotka Tomato
    • Parsnip Palace F1
    • Chrysanthemum Rainbow Mix
So, now all I have to do is make them grow......

    Anyone else ordered early?

Nice selection FC . I grew Zinnia for the first time this year and was very pleased with them .Showey flowers all the way through to late October ,Zinnia elegans 'Whirlygig Mixed'. I might try Nicotinia again this year as well.
Seems like everyone is ordering and planting for 2017 already . I have not finished with 2016 yet !
Still got my Cannas and Dahlias to lift , when we get a dry weekend. Slow down everyone :snooze:

This year was a disaster for me @HarryS - I gave up by the middle of May, and have barely touched the garden since. I am determined that next year will see me get back on form though, hence my early planning and ordering (that, and the early bird and sale discounts too!)

That's a good list you've got there FC. :dbgrtmb: Being garden-less at the moment I'm dreading those tempting catalogues coming. If I'm still in my current abode I may grow and plant up some pots but to be honest I'm a 'bed' gardener and not a lover of pots and baskets. I will probably try some tomatoes outside too. :)

Nahhh @Jack McHammocklashing, there's nowhere more challenging than the Isle of Man for growing outside, well apart from the North Pole! I was still in short sleeves here at the end of October and many plants in gardens, including annuals were still in bloom at the same time. The baskets I noticed around Ullapool at the same time were still in full bloom too. :)

I may eat my words next year of course, but I'm going to give it a go. :)

I am pretty much sorted already having got most of my needs from the Wyevale 50p sale.

Just need a few more from Kings Seeds, stuff like peas and beans and potatoes, cheaper through the National Allotment Society :)

@JWK , John are you ordering anything from Brookside Nursery this year ? It's 15% off until end of Nov . I won't have my 2017 planting short list ready until mid December - hopefully it will be free postage then like last year .

Sandy, if you want "general" seeds, just ask on here, lots of us post out spare seeds, see the seed swop thread
I get special tomato seeds from a kind lady in Bulgaria, lots of seeds from a local good friend
I am sure others will provide (lots with better knowledge than I, and no doubt exotic variety seed

I've taken a few cuttings to over-winter but most are looking a bit sorry for themselves so I might have to order some fresh plants. I'm not getting anything new next year just sticking with the Sunpatiens. I'll wait till the free p&p offer comes too.

Yes FC, every year it's the same - I have a tin full of seed from last year and the year before. There is absolutely no need to buy any more. So this year I have decided to be super strict, to automatically delete any promotional emails from seed companies, not to be swayed by thoughts of what could be and to firmly resist horticultural temptation......
                        :hilarious:
I have so far ordered: Godetia Thoroughly Modern Millie, Scabious Beaujolais Bonnets, Cucumber Delizia, Gaillardia Pulchella Sundance, Sweetcorn Butterscotch, Celery Victoria, Spinach Amazon, Anemone Japonica, Salvia Patens and Pepper Chilli Pot Black .

I fear it is just the beginning...:fence:

I'm trying to be good this year and not order any seeds. I have more than enough already plus a load coming in from forums. However, I am notoriously weak! Having said all that I will be ordering from the 2017 seed list from Robins Salvias.
