We found a fiver in the gutter on Friday, I found a £20 note in the gutter as I walked out of court after being fined that same amount, I was fishing for trout in the Lake District when a £5 note floated past and I netted it and bought us both fish and chips, many years ago found a £50 note in Devon that paid for our week's accommodation.

I'm still decorating - this is a pic of one of the doors half painted.

I thought that the door was white - it turns out it wasn't.

We've been away on holiday :dbgrtmb:. It was cheaper, than getting a taxi to the airport, to stay in an airport hotel the night before flying and then driving the car into the airport and have someone come and take it away for its holiday :heehee: (valet parking). It was also more convenient to go the night before as we had an 8.45 a.m. flight from Heathrow which would have meant leaving home at 3.30 a.m. :rolleyespink:

Everything went well until we arrived back.

We've used the company before and they are usually very efficient. When we have collected our bags in the baggage hall we phone them and they bring the car to us. They normally check the flight arrival and are already on the way to the airport, or already there. This time, when I phoned, they had already taken the car to the airport. Unfortunately, they told me they had taken it to Terminal 5 whereas we were at Terminal 3!!! So they had to go and get it and bring it over to us. It was only a 20 minute delay but we wanted to get home.

I am halfway through lagging our new tank and pipes in the loft!

Although I say new, it has had to wait since it's installation in May when the first frosts have started to scare me :)

IMG_0407.JPG @"M" if you look at the graph at the bottom of the photo it will show you the steps I have achieved so far this week:snorky: I kept forgetting to take my phone out with me when we go on our walkabout each day but have only really got back into Trampet/Rebounder work this week.We average around 4-5 miles walking each day but as my joint and bone pain has been chronic I haven't felt like doing much trampet/rebounder work and the walking is murder on the joints either side of my knee caps:sad:

I went to see the nurse last week for my six monthly review and nearly all the results was good until she decided to take my BP and then I had a shock when she told me it was 200:yikes: She never got round to telling me what the bottom figure was as she was too busy asking me if I had ever been on BP tablets and told me to book in for another go with the 24 hour BP monitor:sad: I asked the nurse to take the BP again after a few minutes and it was 194/94 so it was going down slowly:sad:

Anyway,I am not surprised my BP has gone up after all the stress we have been through recently what with losing Davina and other stuff we have been having to do.I have cut right down on my salt intake and will see what the 24 hour monitor picks up if anything.

I keep thinking of getting one of those Fitbit thingies but there are so many on the market it is difficult to choose the right one although they reckon the Garmin one is pretty good but I am not that technically minded to know which is a good one..Thanks for listening:smile:

The Garmin seems to require the user to have a band around your chest in order to deliver "top specs". I think I posted, some time during this year, the occasion when Mr "M" wanted a Fitbit (not compatible with his particular phone) and the man at Tesco was promoting the Garmin. It was the "chest monitor" which put us off - together with the bumph that the "serious fitness people swear by it". To which, I replied: do we *look* like fitness fanatics?  :dunno: We just wanted something with a marginal degree of accuracy so we could get the gist of what we were (or were not) achieving! :heehee: The Fitbit does that fine enough ;)

Keep on top of your BP!
Reducing salt is a great start and the walking you do will also be a big bonus. Also consider any alcohol intake (and amount); cholesterol rating; smoking (if appropriate); kidney function too (a build up of fluid could make a difference).
It may be worth investing in a monitor for home use because there is empirical evidence which suggests that a persons BP significantly increases when taken at a GP surgery and does not give an overall valuation. Having one at home can give quite a different picture: a) because you can do it whenever *you* choose; b) you are in a relaxed environment and c) because regular monitoring gives a more accurate picture of *your* "average" BP. ;)
Good health to you Kandy - you certainly walk enough to encourage it!
