    Good morning fellow WW'ers

    :roflol:
We have similar issues with our village car park (although it is not near the school). An extension car park was created last year so that anyone hiring the village hall could park in there; no fancy electronic barriers though. Only last week one of the residents couldn't get a space in the "Village" car park, so parked in the "Village Hall" car park (which is at the back and to the left of the village car park). Unfortunately, that resident didn't move the vehicle once the event in the village hall had ended and it was locked in (behind the barrier) :heehee: Kicking up a stink, the resident is quoted as complaining: "Someone had taken my parking space in the village car park so I had no choice but to park in the village hall car park!" :roflol: I live opposite the Village/Village Hall car parks, but I'm not suffering barrier control envy and thus, in no hurry to put my name forward for that honour ;) :heehee:

Gloriously sunny morning today and very refreshing after the dank, misty, drizzly day yesterday. #1 son attended his work Christmas "do" last night and is day off today so no doubt when he rears from under his duvet I'll get a run down on how well it went. He's been given his shifts for the next couple of weeks and is flabbergasted to note that he is expected to work an 8 day week for one of them! :heehee: Welcome to the real world, son; welcome to the real world :pathd: Conversely, #2 son is enjoying every moment of his Christmas break from Uni :roflol: He still sticks to his routine of getting up at 7am and going to bed at a set time but does his own thing in between (unless I ask him to do something) :think3: I do wish that, sometimes, I didn't have to *ask*

Still have wrapping to do, which I dislike but it is a necessary evil at this time of year :santa wave: I've squirrelled away some birthday wrapping paper seeing as we have one or two of those around Christmas too. I think it is poor form to use Christmas paper for someone's birthday: you'd never get away with it at any other time of year so why do some people do it for those who have birthdays around the Christmas/New Year celebrations? :dunno:

Anyway, just like Tigger, I should be bouncing along too ... too much to do and too little time to do it all: prioritising is the way forward over the coming weeks :heehee:

Smiles and vibes for all xxMxx

          Aloha everyone,

Having to ask is the role of a mum. :)

Well, last night's abuse from parents (only from mums ) was much less than that on Tuesday. :blue thumb: One of them said that she doesn't live in the village and so she has to drive here. So she has got to park somewhere. I just smiled politely and suggested she didn't try and park on private property. Whilst she was swearing at me a little old lady walked past on the way to the school concert. She stopped, told the woman to watch her language and to park on one of the roads and walk. She then said "I'm 90 and am managing to walk here, and I'm pleased that you don't live in the village." :rasp:

There was a little bit of drama in the village yesterday as there were some break-ins during the night. The doctor's surgery was broken into (they have their own dispensary) and the police think that it was done by druggies. The village hall trust also run a smaller hall across the road that actually belongs to the church and is in the churchyard. That also got broken into. We weren't allowed to go in there until the police SOCO's had finished doing their forensic work - which they still haven't done yet. So we had to be escorted around the place to assess the damage without actually touching anything. Then had to arrange for the smashed door and window to be fixed without the repairman touching anything that may contain fingerprints. I'll be back up there today to help tidy up.

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

              Good evening fellow WW'ers :spinning:

"It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas ... " Mr "M", #2 son and I decided not to wait any longer and did the bulk of the food shopping today. Visited the local Aldi and was pleasantly surprised with some of the goods on offer - not to mention their prices! I confess to preferring Lidl but we don't have one locally, so Aldi was a nice change. Very disappointed in the offerings from the local Morrisons and the local Asda is too small to carry much stock and also ended up disappointing  Despite all of that, I came home satisfied with what I did get; best of all no dramas/clashes/trolly injuries or till receipt errors! :phew: It's a relief to get that lot out of the way because I tend to become a bit of a hermit at this time of year :heehee: Just the fresh vegetables/fruit to worry about before the holidays now.

Yes, I know, but I changed my name to "Dad" a few years ago, to save myself the aggro, but no one seems to have noticed!:heehee:
By the way, I love your 90 year old lady; bravo to her! :yay:

#1 son has begun his 9 day week today :heehee: I'm expecting moans of aches and pains when he gets home tonight and by the end of those 9 days I'm expecting him to go to bed and not get up for 48 hours (he'll completely miss Christmas! :roflol: ). I should be more sympathetic, I am really, but despite all the years of training I've tried to put into him and his brother you can't beat real experience to bring the "message" soundly home (and the cheeky side of me cannot help but find it a little amusing  ) Boo! Hiss! Naughty "M" :heehee:

Still haven't written out the cards, but I have a glass with my name on it when I shall sit down and tackle that aspect.

Smiles and vibes for all xxMxx

                Evening later people :)

Sorry, been knackered all week  Clearing a totally overgrown garden thats on a hill :thud:

From what was impenetrable brambles, we found a shed, a greenhouse, a pergola that had been eaten by a Clematis, and a Japanese Soldier who won't come out until we get his comanding officer to tell him in person that the war is over

Given him a phone with Pokémon Go on it, that should shift him :snorky:

Up at 5 to do it all again tomorrow :thud:

Have a good evening everyone :Wino:

Bit grey out there today, good job I've got plenty to be getting on with indoors :heehee: Bread making is on the list (making a spiced fruit loaf today: scrummy!) and, of course, I have things which need wrapping  At least the temperature is still on the mild side, which I quite like.

                                Aloha everyone,

Woo is currently in the lead with post 373 - unless you define the situation as needing some form of typing. In which case I'm currently in the lead with post 372. No one would possibly believe that I'm competing for the shortest post :hate-shocked: :roflol:

@wiseowl are you sure that you haven't got some porridge in your eyes that is causing that blurred effect? I've still got my porridge menu from the 'Pop Inn'. :dbgrtmb:

@Zigs Have you learned Japanese yet? :snork:

I've just spent the last two hours researching the meaning of 'Open Space' when applied to land, as I'm currently involved (one of the committees I sit on :noidea:) in debate with the local authority. I've got reference numbers spinning around in my head  :heehee:

I've, gradually, been working on removing moss from the flower beds. It has been taking about 45 minutes to fill a bucket (the compressed moss becomes quite heavy) and that's sufficient for my back before I have to give up. I've also been working on getting Mrs Shiney's tax rebate from the Revenue. The taxman now owes her £600 to cover the last three years (return of bank interest, not a lot, and tax deducted from her pension that shouldn't have been deducted). They've agreed it but haven't sent it! I've now been communicating directly with their computer system and have received a message from it stating that it will put it in our bank account within two weeks. I think they have to get it back from their 'office Christmas party fund' :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Keep well and have a great day

                                Aloha!
