If I left my husband to buy his own clothes without at least some input from me he'd have been locked up years ago:roflol:. He may be able to tell the diffferent colours of traffic lights but when it comes to clothes colour blind doesn't quite describe what he thinks is a fine combination.

That's no problem for me :blue thumb: I'm definitely in control of myself and neither of us have bought me any clothes in the last forty years. :heehee: Apart from new pants and socks (I buy them from M&S) and the occasional new shirt that I buy, accompanied by Mrs Shiney, on Keswick market (£8 this year :phew:).

Although I must say that I'm a poor henpecked man that gets pushed around by everyone without a protest from me  :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

What a pathetic lot you are.
We are all diferent and have diferent tastes. That should be respected.
Someone who forces their personal tastes on others, and think only they are right, is being arogant.

In general, husband shops for his own clothes, by himself. My issue is when I buy him $$$$ sweaters for Christmas and he just wears them to work on something. So, after that, if I want to buy him a "sweater" it is the cheapest I can find. He also requested one time for "dress" jeans. So got him $$$ dress jeans, and now I find them in the wash with car grease on them.
I recall one year, he asked me to go shoe shopping, so we went. We are in a all gender shoe store navigating around. My eye caught some shoes I would like so I checked them out. Mr Jealous comes over and says "hey we are here for me". Like really, I am thinking, "grow -up".

This morning because the powers to be have scrapped the "Disability Living Allowance and have changed it to "PIP(Personal Independence PaymentI had to take my disabled daughter for an assessment this morning she has had these disabilities since birth).

Good morning @shiney my friend and thank you, quite an experience ,got there right on time itwas like a prison bars and glass everywhere, receptionist said(didn't even look up and said "Got your letter" to which I polightly replied I do apologise but we did not receive a letter,"yes you did you must have" I then repeated I am sorry but we never received a letter,"well I can't let you in as I don't know who you are to which I replied here is my ID"That's no good I want the applicants ID,has she got a driving lincence" I then said
quietly as to her my Daughter has difficulty in walking let alone driving"
                    can you speak up"
so I raised my voice and repeated my first statement to the recepionist to which she replied"you don't have to shout I'm not deaf" I still can't let you in .has she got any ID on her" I politely and courteously replied she has a bus pass with her photo on it"well I shouldn't accept that, but I will have a look at it,but next time I shall send you away and you will have to make another appointment" ,I said (with my semse of humour in shreds but still intact)thank you for being so resonable and understanding at this stressful time, then a young lady came and called us in,and said only two people are allowed in at any one time so with Mrs Woos permission I went in and mrs Woo waited outside,,the next hour is another story for another time;)

I'm so sorry @wiseowl to hear of your dreadful experience. Unfortunately you will have suffered because of how ghastly so many people that the DWP have to deal with are. It's is so unfair the the innocent suffer because of the guilty:grphg:.
Many many moons ago I worked for what was then the DHSS and started out feeling very "christian" towards most applicants/claiments. Within about 3 months I had become totally cynical and presumed everybody was lying as I had had the wool pulled over my eyes so often.
That isn't an excuse but I'm afraid it's often how we become if enough people make a fool out of you.
Indeed there was 1 occassion that I was threatened with having my face "rearranged" when I refused to believe a claiment had lost yet another Giro!!!! In those days you didn't have the "prison bars and glass"but I can assure you I would have felt a lot safer if there had been.
To just maybe raise a smile, we had a claiment who according to him was basically unable to walk unaided or for any distance and had managed to get an invalid car paid for by the DHSS(those old fashioned little pale blue jobs if you are old enough to remember those).
After having claimed everything under the sun for years somehow we learnt that he was working as a window cleaner!
He was invited to attend to have a meeting with our fraud officer altho he didn't know who he was going to see.
The guy arrived parked his mobility car outside the offices and hobbled in on 2 sticks.
He went in to the meeting and within about 30 seconds he marched out of the meeting(no sticks) strode off, got into the mobility car, backed it up and then put his foot flat to the floor and rammed it into the doors of the office, got out and departed. I believe he got charged with fraud and criminal damage but I had left working for the DHSS before I found out for sure what happened.
Daughter currently volunteers at Citizens Advice once a week. She too is becoming pretty cynical. Did you know that you can get a voucher for a food bank with absolutely no proof that you are in real need? There is a steady stream which turn up at CA and vouchers are given out to all that ask for them.

I think enough of you know that I help out people that are on benefits of different kinds. I have twice been in 'Benefit Fraud' meetings accompanying people with disabilities and the first meeting ended with me having to tell the 'Inspector' to change his attitude or the meeting will be brought to a halt and he would be reported (he was reported and was suspended from duty). The other time they got the warning in advance and the meeting turned out to be very friendly.

I'm getting all wound up for my root canal filling at 10 past 3 today - I just don't like going to the dentist - I suspect it's something to do with having an operational high speed drill next to my skull :rolleyespink:.

Oooh - the drilling sound .....:oops:

Good afternoon @silu my dear friend and thank you,I did realise the extreme pressure and the nature of the ladies job and the amount of the unsaviory customers she has to deal with, that's why I made allowances for her under the circumstances;) as I do for most people who deal with the public, but I kept smiling through and when I left I bid her goodbye and wished her to have a nice day, most people these days are under pressure for one reason or another given enough time I can usually bring a smile to faces, enjoy your day my friend:smile:

Sounds like you're (like me) now too old for jeans. Haven't bought any for about 15 years now.

It's been DONE. No pain at all - thank the Lord I have dental insurance - the bill is mounting up. Dentist reckons I may need a 'crown' - now that does sound expensive...
