Morning all. Man flu here as well (just a cold really), hope you soon feel better Woo.

Luckily I have a couple of days off, will probably catch up on a bit of housework today and I suppose I'd better make a start on wrapping the Christmas presents too. :heehee:

Mrs Trunky has a cold too, so we're a right pair at the moment. Still, looking on the bright side, at least we're getting the colds out of the way now so we should be fine for Christmas.

Shortest day today as well, so a bit more daylight from now on.

          Have a good day.

              Aloha everyone,

@wiseowl I hope you get over your owl flu fairly very quickly :grphg:. I'm sure nobody on here is going to report you to DEFRA :heehee:

Re the PIP Assessment: I would have thought by now that they were able to give a permanent assessment without you needing to go there - unless you're claiming more because of a worsening of the situation. I'm sure that you know but if you're speaking on her behalf you should always talk mainly about the situation when she's having a really bad day and don't describe what happens on her best days. Some assessors only write down what you've said about the good days and ignore the bad ones. Don't forget that you can apply, afterwards, for travelling costs. You can claim 25 per mile and your parking costs. If Michaila has worries about small rooms, going up stairs or problems with a lot of people around or too many screens etc. in a room then you should tell them in advance and they must adjust to your wishes. In the past I have made them move assessments to a ground floor room with no computer screen visible.

I haven't had to take Barry for a PIP assessment, yet :fingers crossed:, as I had managed to get his DLA listed as permanent. They can still call him in and force a change over by assessment but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Our bridge club Christmas party went well yesterday. Although there were quite a few members away for Christmas we still had a good turn out. We supplied the booze and the members supplied the food :dbgrtmb:. We played light hearted bridge and gave away lots of prizes and everyone had a good time. The lady in the bottom right hand corner with the light pink top is 98 and still managing to play :love30: :)

              Tues bridge Xmas 2016.jpg

I've got to go through it all again, tonight, with my Wednesday evening club. This time we shall be playing silly versions of bridge :heehee: but it will be fun.

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

Good morning @shiney my friend and thank you, quite an experience ,got there right on time itwas like a prison bars and glass everywhere, receptionist said(didn't even look up and said "Got your letter" to which I polightly replied I do apologise but we did not receive a letter,"yes you did you must have" I then repeated I am sorry but we never received a letter,"well I can't let you in as I don't know who you are to which I replied here is my ID"That's no good I want the applicants ID,has she got a driving lincence" I then said
quietly as to her my Daughter has difficulty in walking let alone driving"
                can you speak up"
so I raised my voice and repeated my first statement to the recepionist to which she replied"you don't have to shout I'm not deaf" I still can't let you in .has she got any ID on her" I politely and courteously replied she has a bus pass with her photo on it"well I shouldn't accept that, but I will have a look at it,but next time I shall send you away and you will have to make another appointment" ,I said (with my semse of humour in shreds but still intact)thank you for being so resonable and understanding at this stressful time, then a young lady came and called us in,and said only two people are allowed in at any one time so with Mrs Woos permission I went in and mrs Woo waited outside, the next hour is another story for another time;)

                    Aloha everyone,

@wiseowl I hope your shopping goes well but don't go too early or the shops won't be open ;). 48 hours? :hate-shocked: Are you sure it's not an elephant? You are obviously going to slow cook it but you need to be very careful when slow cooking. I'm sure you already know this:love30: but the two very important things with very slow cooking is that the stuffing, if you use it, should be cooked first and you should start the cooking for the first hour on high. Both are done to kill off bacteria. We don't want you coming down with avian flu as well as owl flu :heehee:

I shall also go shopping early this morning but give enough time for the rush hour to finish before driving to town.

Keep well and have a great day

                    Aloha!

                        Good afternoon fellow WW'ers

I've spent the past two days shopping and now I'm totally pooped (and possibly bankrupt! :heehee: ) :thud:
Now I've got yet more wrapping to do, the hovering and polishing are simply going to have to wait! :nonofinger: I quite like this time of year, but, when there are birthdays to be dealt with on top of everything else, it does make for an extremely busy time. Naturally, (at least in our household) birthdays take priority, but that simply means being a little more creative for the 25th. I think I'm running low on creativity at the moment

Smiles and vibes for all xxMxx

Just finished work and had our works do, which involved a shandy down the Dinnington Docks and trying to fix the barmaids windscreen wipers

Life in the fast lane eh? :heehee:

Good morning everyone. Went to take the car down to Tesco's for a few last bits and discovered the battery was flat again on the car. I am wondering if I am due for a new battery only she doesn't seem to hold the charge long. I know the security system on the car tends to drain it while she is standing around. Just do not use her often enough.

Have a good day all, although the forecast is not good, keep warm and dry and above all stay safe and well. WOO, and Trunky, hope you two are feeling better. God bless. :wub2:

                              Aloha everyone,

@moyra it sounds as though you need to give your car a little run a bit more often or you really need a new battery. Maybe you can get it checked (our little local garage checks things like that for their customers). I guess that even a new battery may go flat if you don't use it much.

Yesterday was a lazy day but I finished spraying a patio cleaner on the paving. It's supposed to be non-toxic to animals and plants. A cousin has used it and their paving looks wonderful. If it works it will save me from needing to pressure hose it, not very successfully, three times a year. It's supposed to take up to three months to show results and I shall take photos each month. Some of the black spots may take longer as the pressure hosing doesn't remove them properly anyway. Mixing up the chemical and spraying it (carefully, as I'm trying to avoid it getting on any plants - despite what they say) has taken four hours of work.

Mrs Shiney took a chicken casserole that I cooked, to a friend of hers whose husband died last year aged 90+, as we thought it a much better present than a box of chocolates or a plant.

I'll do a bit more removal of moss from the flower beds and then have some visiting to do. I also need to chase up the delivery of the bird feed that was due yesterday.

It's the last of the bridge club Christmas parties tonight :phew:

Keep well and have a great day

                              Aloha!

Windy and cloudy here, still mild for the time of year, seen a Dormouse and a Bumble bee in the past week :yikes:

Shiney, can you let us know the make of that pateaux cleaner, we get asked to use the stuff but we've not found one that works yet :dunno:

Off to do a Christmas booze shop in a bit :Wino:

Have a good day everyone and remember to brush your teeth, there's mistletoe about Vishenka_03.gif
