I regularly get paid to say there's no way i'm having a smart meter, bit pointless, me being off grid, but if they want to lob money in my direction

      Good afternoon fellow WW'ers :spinning:

Another day of celebrations here in "M"-land - I tell you, I'm fair worn out with celebrations! I've been invited out tomorrow night but, if I'm really honest, I'd rather curl up with a book (got three from Santa ) and have an early night  I am feeling a bit run down anyway so early nights are most likely the best cure for that.

@shiney - impressive phlegm you have there! :pathd: erm .... thank you (?) for sharing it with us :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Smiles and vibes for all xxMxx

Now you can tell them that you've finally thought of it and it made you remember the origin of it. :heehee:

Good morning all, I received a warning from a friend about smart meters. We worry about the radiation from our mobiles and now our routers but apparently the radiation from these smart meters is something else because they have to transmit further. I'm not having one near me.
Shiney and WOO hope you are both on the mend and feeling better now is it Zigs going down with the bug?

Have a good day all stay warm and dry and above all safe and well and give 2016 a good send off tonight.
            God bless.:wub2::Wino:

              Aloha everyone,

@moyra Have you been following the thread we have on smart meters? I think the consensus of opinion is that almost everyone is wary of them and most can't really see the point. A fair proportion of them think 'conspiracy' theories about them (including me :heehee:) and the research that has been done says that the series 1 version is unlikely to be compatible if you change suppliers. They have already made a series 2 version that will be compatible but they still have 80,000 of series 1 they're still dishing out.

I think that we more senior types were brought up in the time when it was considered that we should be able to take care of our own actions and I don't need a machine telling me that I can save power if I use something less than I am at the moment. :nonofinger:

              I don't mind hi-tech machinery/electronics but I want to make the decisions.

I've never liked machines being given the name 'Smart' - apart from "brain the size of a planet" Marvin. :snork: There's too much personal reliance on 'Smart' technology - with apologies to those of you who 'can't live without' your Smart phones etc.

              Signed,

Grumpy Old Man and Luddite, :old:

                Morning early people :)

Just what I needed this morning, getting out of a warm bed with the lurgy and sitting in a cold car for 2 hours waiting for someone to come by to give me a jump start

Still, at least the sun's come out now

Have a good day everyone :spinning:

                    Good day everyone
@Zigs , I hope you start feeling better soon and the gods give you a reliable battery.

@shiney Smart meters don't just measure the amount you use, they punish you by reporting that you had the nerve to use the electricity between 7a.m. & 7p.m. on weekdays and the utility company gets to charge you double for the amount used during that time period. That is why today I will try to get all my vacuuming, cooking, etc done while I'm only paying "normal" rates. My indoor growing lights are on from 7p.m. to 9 a.m. so that I only pay premium rates for 2 hours each weekday for those lights. I also gave oh cash in advance for what these will use.

And after I've finished the chores, I will go visit my friend in the home and then my sister. Is there a New Year's party here tonight?

                    Be safe please everyone :)

Good morning (afternoon by the time I've finished typing; or, evening by the time it may be read :heehee: ) fellow WW'ers :spinning:

I've got the day off!! :yahoo: :yay: :hapydancsmil:
No more celebrations to sort out for a good few months now; no meal to cook; no one around interrupting what I'm doing with their "must be done, now!" D-mands :waggy: ; Ozzy has had a lovely long walk; the phone is off; Mr "M" has just left for work; #1 son has gone away for the night; #2 son is busy "gaming" and ... I'm ready to spend a day of selfish indulgence!
                        :think3: Not quite sure what I'm going to do ... :think2: .... I'm sure I'll think of something ... ... ... :dunno:

... you didn't have to wait 8 hours for someone to come to your rescue :heehee:

Miles of smiles and healing vibes for those in need of them

I'm somewhat better this morning and only a little wobbly. :blue thumb:

I hope that all of you who have not been too good recover quickly. :grphg:

I'm fed up with being indoors so shall see if I'm up to getting out today. Mrs Shiney is fighting off a cough etc. so shall need to try and run round her instead of her running around me. :wub2:

Lovely party last night :heehee: pity everyone scarpered when the washing up needed doing

I began a new craft project yesterday so I'll be getting on with that today once Mr "M" has gone to work.

It's very bleak outside: foggy and damp. Not weather which entices you outside really.
