I used to clear all the plants out of the greenhouse and then spray the whole place, including underneath the benching - every square inch of the place. It was then left for two hours and then I brought the hose into the greenhouse and hosed the place down. It's too much work for me now :old:

Nothing outside as everything frozen :snork:. Decided to sow some seeds that take a while to germinate fuchsia boliviana, hedychuim forestii, hibiscus, cardiocrinum giganteum. Then take a look at the email circulating regarding plant sales:snorky:

Everything has been frozen all day and it's freezing outside again now ... . It's actually worked out that I've got Saturday/Sunday/Monday off from work which is extreamly rare so I'll be making the most of it and doing a deep clean of my greenhouse and also have a sort out and bin loads of rubbish. .... At some point over the weekend I'll be taking a trip to a lovely garden centre in Bourne, Cambridgeshire to see what early seeds I can be getting on with and see if they have any sale bits, ... can't wait!

Today i've mulched 5 big bags of well rotted manure around the front garden border....could do with another 10 bags in the front.

          Finally pruned the apple tree.

          Planned out my allotment beds.

Made a spreadsheet of all the items i've got growing or need to buy to help me keep track of everything and help with fiture bed/crop rotation.

Pruned something back that was overgrown (no idea what it is and hope I haven't killed it)

Just about to buy some seeds from Marshalls :rolleyespink:

First seeds of 2017 bought from Wilko earlier. Anyone else caved yet and starting buying seeds/plants!?

Just made a purchase from marshalls. Had to remove half the stuff from the basket as went a bit mad. Lol. Will head to wilkos tomorrow too. He he.

Just wondering...did wilkos have trays etc back in?...my local one had no gardening bits in because of xmas.

Nice treats Kayleigh! Itching to get some more seeds and plants in.. waiting patiently for the seed swap to come round too! Did pick up a load when wilko reduced them last year mind, so need to have a look through them :blue thumb:

Cleaned the coop out and give the chooks a struggling cabbage plant, got 4 bags of poo-ey bedding piled up so far. Determined to get a composter, might even make one from pallets.. but it's too cold for me to stay outside longer than half hour. Filled the bird feeders up with some fat balls and went in for a warm and a cuppa :coffee:

We don't buy seeds, except runner beans, but are usually given some to trial or as a gift. My bean order shall go in to my supplier next month. Last year I got 560 seeds for £5.

Not received any of the gifts as they won't be until people have planted their seeds and have some leftovers.

I see that some of you use Marshalls. They have brought out a new dwarf French bean called Satelit. We shall be trialing them this year. Let you know the result at the end of the summer. I'll make a mini frame for them to give them a fair trial.

I have bought those too....for 99p! Thought it was worth a go.

Will als get the leftover seeds from my mum and I will swap her my leftovers too.

This year my mum is using 2 vegtrugs. She bought herself the big one to try and i bought her an additional smaller one for xmas. Hoping it will be good for her as she suffers with a bad back. She likes gardening but struggled to do anything because of the pain.

Went to my local one this morning (it's not massive) but they have the bigger pots and seeds in, no trays or other little bits just yet. End of the month maybe :noidea::fingers crossed:

Sorry to hear about your Mam. I'd love a purple vegtrug or 2! Came across the wooden coldframe one the other day, awesome stuff.

Did anyone managed to get outside today in this awful weather? I got out in the drizzle about 2pm and sorted out the greenhouse, swept up a pathway and scrubbed a bit of jeyes fluid over it.

If the weather is any better tomorrow I'll try do the pathway with a pressure washer as it is so slippery with slime.

                              What drizzle?

I did just a little work in the garden today and continued with removing moss from the flower beds. I filled three wheelie bins with moss before Christmas :phew:

Drizzle with intermittment rain and perma-fog today in Mentmore, Bucks.

Ooh moss! I've been wanting to do some ferns in hanging baskets and emailed fernatix for advice....they suggested lining a hanging basket with moss, not plastic. Thought it was a good tip! :)
