What's your weather, Winter 2016

@pete We were in the street where the people make the statues for their festival. They were getting ready to celebrate the goddess Durga and it's called Durga Puja (Puja means festival). They're made from straw and mud from the river. The river that runs through Calcutta is called the Hoogly and is the bottom end of the Ganges. After the festival the statues get thrown back into the river.

It's a skilled job but the artisans only get work during festivals.

When out in the Observatory last night I looked at my watch to discover it was 2am and then a quick scan of the wall thermometer told me the temperature was 22f [-5C] so I decided it was time to head for the House, a mug of Hot Chocolate and Bed.
This morning I woke up to a reading of the Weather Station saying it was still 22f outside. During the day the temperature rose to 34f and has stayed there until about two hours when it dropped to 32f. So the clear skies have changed to cloud moving in from the West but no rain so far, and right now the pressure reading is 1015hpa.

@wiseowl it's positively tropical where you are this morning. We've only managed 23F this morning and the frost looks more like snow! I'm not venturing out in this!!!
