Yeah, but you believed Ziggy when he said it was his round, and wondered why he seemed to have disappeared.
Of course you do Just ... ... don't underestimate him Remember the old adage: better to let people *think* you are a fool ... ... okay, so it finishes with "... than open your mouth and prove it!" ... But, with Boris, (and I may be wrong here) ... I think his stance is to take that adage and ... reverse it "Open your mouth and let people *think* you are a fool .. " I do not see him as a loose cannon ... I see him as a puppet master simply playing the part of a fool for entertainment while keeping his cards very close to his chest; time will tell
I can't see Theresa May tolerating idiots so I don't believe she thinks that Boris is one. He's highly intelligent, in my opinion, but probably too honest to not say what he thinks.
Trouble with Boris is, us Brits tend to like eccentrics. Not sure many others do, so putting him in the job he is, is not the best plan.
I think he's the perfect person for the job. The eu is full of politicians who think, or thought, that the status quo was rock solid, unchangeable, safe. Jobs for the boys (and girls presumably but I can't recall hearing of a girl in a position of authority in the eu, except Merkel, but I'm not sure battle axes count as girls). We've rocked the boat. And if you plan to rock the boat, if it is a large unwieldy boat, you need to really, really rock it. To do that you can't use someone from the standard mold. So you wheel out The Bozza.
That's the point: I bought the last one (and the one before that!). Maybe. But, I still think it was all very ... ... ... ... "politic" ... ... think about it - Boris was pro-Brexit but, like Cameron (and many of the electorate), wasn't "truly" expecting to win; Boris was mortified that Brexit won the vote! But ... *then* he was given the post of Foreign Secretary. Theresa May does not strike me as someone who acts on a whim - she *knew* what she was doing when she chose her Cabinet! Besides: every pack has a joker The real trick is: not to underestimate its weight
Well, BREXIT is not a normal, run of the mill, happening, and maybe we need a few eccentric, blunt speaking people to knock down the hostile political barriers that will be placed in our way, rather than some person of the same ilk of the EU Politicians.
I reckon it may all be a clever ploy to use the 'good cop, bad cop' tactic. May can't be seen, and heard, to be saying very hard line things so she gets Bozo to do it and then keeps him in the Cabinet (not cupboard) so that the EU politicians can't be sure whether it's a possible policy idea. Conspiracy theorist of the world unite! :rasp:
Yes that's worked out so well recently with brexit and Trump... Let the political circus earn it's money for once and complete the deal
