Not sure of the cause but a Neighbour had a problem last saturday.
I was sitting in the conservatory and could hear loud banging sounds, when I looked out there was grey smoke rising. DSC_0014.JPG

Seems the large Shed/ summer house that backed onto my allotment was on fire it moved on rapidly.

About at this point we had a firework display, rockets and all sorts going up wards thank god.

It was about at this point a gas container went up, I ducked as I was about 30ft away at the time.

After only 30 mins it was pretty much burnt out.

Lucky it didn't spread onto the fence and through the garden - at another dryer time of the year it could have been much worse. I seem to recall one of our members having a serious fire that ruined their garden, Tropical Gaz maybe ?

My main worry was for the fence but I think it was saved by the wind direction.

A plastic shed in the garden next door was badly melted but it didn't catch fire itself.

so ... you raced to call the fire brigade get your camera :pathd:

... still trying to get through on 999? :dunno:

Well, if the fire brigade couldn't get there within 30 minutes ...

... I wouldn't bother calling them out! :snooty:

The last time i had the fire brigade out at the last house they wouldn't go up on the roof to put out a chimney fire, they're ladders weren't long enough, so me being me but out our own chimney fire :) Jiffy also had a good chimney fire here and put that one out myself :Wino:The worst thing with using the fire brigade is that they flood the place,

I kind of thought that the people living nearer would have phone the fire brigade, there are a whole row of houses over that way as yopu can see in pic 1.

The fire brigade had to come from about a mile away at the most, it was quite some time after they arrived that I actually saw any water being put on the fire, I guess Health and safety means they have to do a risk assessment before even getting out a hose these days?
I just think they thought it was a shed fire so let it go, no loss of life etc.
And there could have been more gas cylinders inside.

So I did the usual thing that most people do these days, took a few snaps :snork:
