I'd call it graceful and classy!

Mostly just Phostrogen. Bloody things need cutting out of ten inch pots after their first season. They push great big bumps into the sides of placcy pots :yikes:

Very pretty @longk! Is it a mixed bag when you grow canna from seed? (some good, some bad?)

Yup! Banana leaves and up to two and a half metres tall :snork:

That's a beautiful species. They grow it in the pond in the Lily House at Oxfords Botanic Gardens.

I haven't grown Cannas for years so am trying these.
Sent for six rhizomes from Holland from a company called Farmergracy ,delivery March 1st.
3 of Rose Futurity.........3 of Reine Charlotte.

That is my buy on a whim for 2017.

I still name Altensteinii as my favourite, with lots of feed and tlc, 12ft+ is possible in one year from seed if sown early, a few years ago I got one plant to clump up to about 3ft across and stand at 11ft 6ins and flowering by the end of September :)

Started Jan 20th @longk 's canna paniculata. Do I wait for roots to hit the bottom before potting on?
