Well we have been for a walk this morning but as Mr Kandy has now got my cold which has turned to the usual man flu had to cut it down a bit as he was struggling due to sneezing,a runny nose, and lack of energy:snorky:

So we are getting behind with this months walking totals as we need to get in 84 miles before the end of this month(86 1/4for January:yay:)

We are now having a nice cup of hot choc then I am going out into the garden to do some tidying up of dead plant material before we get battered by these storms later on today:sad:

@Victoria we wish we could walk to the start of our walking destinations from our village but have to drive a couple of miles so that we can walk the Brampton Valley Way which is a walking cycle route.Last Friday when we had a heavy frost we were able to walk five miles across the fields near our house and even saw our first lambs of the year:yay:

I thought my Dr and hospital surgeon would tell me to pack in the walking until I get my toe sorted but they said to keep up with the walking due to my Arthritis so until I can longer walk after the op I am going to keep going:smile:

A lot of bloggers are doing the 1,000 mile in a year challenge, either walking, cycling,or jogging but the ones not walking but using other means are I think supposed to do more miles I think as they have it easier.:snorky:

You should have watched it @ARMANDII as there were a couple of large telescopes especially for watching the dark skies down on Exmoor:smile:

Walking is good for the heart as well as for the mind not to mention all the lovely flora and forna to be seen along the way:snorky:

I'm still in the midst of refurbishing the 4 Kitchen chairs and the Kitchen table. So today I applied the last coat of varnish to the fourth chair and to the table and have to wait another 24 hours to dry:dunno:.........but they do look so much better:yes::snorky:
My wooden Kitchen cabinet doors caught my eye and I realised that they looked a bit tired as well. They're painted in a Fern green shade [Duluxe satin finish] and, knowing I was down to about an inch of it in the tin, I decided to take a trip to B&Q in the next town and get a new tin of the same colour paint. I also thought I'd pick up a new Kitchen wall light switch as it didn't work all that well [30 years old:heehee:] from there as well. Do you ever have one of those days when you know things aren't going right:dunno::doh::heehee:
I took the old can of paint with me to B&Q with the reference number for ease of identifying it. Getting to the Paint Mixing Counter I asked the jovial Paint Guy if he could mix me another can of the same colour. He looked at the can, shook his head and said "no". When I asked why he explained that B&Q don't sell Duluxe paint anymore but use Valspar for main stock now. It appears that B&Q asked Duluxe to drop their prices and got a refusal so they swapped over to Valspar.
So, I decided to go for the nearest shade that Valspar had to the one to the on in the old Duluxe can. Between the Paint Guy and myself we managed to find a shade, when dry, identical to the old shade, and so I went for that. It only takes minutes to mix and while that was happening we spent time solving the world's problems.
Next was the wall light switch. Not a problem and I found one after a wander through the aisles.......great!! On getting home, I can't get on my driveway as my neighbour is moving house and there's a great big truck parked over both driveways. Into the House, after I've switched off the mains electricity, coat off, and determination to renew the light switch. It's a simple job, undo two screws, pull the switch out, undo the wire, new switch and attach the power wire, fix the switch to the wall.........Great!! Power on, press the switch.........and it doesn't move:dunno:. The brand new switch is jammed. So I shut the main power off again, undo the switch, try it again........still jammed:gaah: I had tested it in the packet while in the Store and it had worked:dunno::doh: So that meant another trip, into town, to Wilko's and another switch bought. Back home it took 2 minutes to replace the switch.........and it worked.........but an extra trip and more time spent when I could have been making a mug of tea.:dunno::coffee::snorky:

I thought that was your hair piece @Zigs or could it be Trumptons new one?:snorky:

As we went over to the allotment yesterday and got some more buckets of leaf mould/compost for spreading round my borders,I spent some time emptying some of the buckets while waiting for the roast to cook:biggrin:

After lunch we decided to go off for a nice walk as the sun had decided to come out,but by the time we got to the start of the walk the sun had vanished.Even so we managed 4 1/2 mile walk although it got to Mr Kandy in the end as he is still recovering from his man flu:snorky:
