    Yeah that is also an issue. But it is only a 8x6. should be manageable...

      Welcome to Gardeners Corner, SM:thumbsup::snorky: If you go with just soil in the Green House first, and don't like it, you can then try concrete..........but if you went with concrete first........:dunno::whistle:

        I have 2 small greenhouses which I situated on my deck because I never intend to grow in anything but containers within them. I have enjoyed the fact that I can shift things around if I have initially placed them in a spot which later proves unsatisfactory.

        I have only had my greenhouses 5 years but have been thoroughly happy with these extenders. We are deep in the middle of our winter 15f temps so the greenhouses will stay empty for another six weeks.

        You will love having your greenhouse and I am excited to see another greenhouse grower here!

        Welcome to the forum!

          I too, am excited. Hopefully by the end of summer I've managed to grow something apart from weeds lol. The smell of tomatoes growing in a greenhouse is something I remember as a child from my grandfathers. It's weird how smells can evoke a memory :)

            Same here, my Dad didn't grow tomatoes but I lived with an uncle for a while and he grew them. He used to tell us that he fed them with Sheep's wee. Being 7 at the time I took that for granted, but as I grew up I started to think..

            Hold on a minute, how on earth do you get Sheep's wee :scratch:

            Saw him at a funeral a few years back and asked him. Turns out he'd found an old septic tank and used to pump that up as tomato feed :doh:

              I've got another question I'd like to ask.
              When my new greenhouse arrives it has 2 roof vents and I've also paid extra for a louvre vent. Should I buy auto openers and which ones would you guys recommend or avoid???

              :blue thumb::snorky:

              Firstly, yes, get automatic window openers for your windows as they will be a boon in lowering the temperature in the Green House when needed, and you can't be around all the time or even remember to open them manually yourself. There's literally dozens of brands out their but you can start with Bayliss, Gardman for around £15 to £20

                Yes I'm definitely going to get some. What about the louvre window? Would you recommend I get an auto opener for that also

                  It's not as important and to be honest, I leave my manual louvre shut most of the time until it becomes warmer. You're definitely going to enjoy having a Green House!!:yes:

                    Welcome to the forum Spacemunkey.

                    I advocate using the soil too. Soil provides a much bigger reservoir of moisture and nutrients as opposed to containers, so popping away for a weekend or longer you can get away with it. With grobags or pots you need to be watering every day or set up some kind of auto system.

                        That's a shame but there is still plenty of time before you need to start using it. Are they erecting it for you too? That would be a problem.
