@Kandy I really admire you for what you do with your foot and knee problems. :love30:

I have had Osteoarthritis in both knees diagnosed in March 2013 so I now have a private gardener. It didn't help when I broke my leg shearing my femur at the neck and my hip was replaced in December 2014. Since then I have lost 20 kilos. :hate-shocked: Now I only exercise on the static bike .. I feel safe.

@Victoria oh my goodness that sounds horrendous with your health problems and hope that you are feeling a lot better now.Good for you with the weight loss.:love30::grphg: I struggle to lose weight due to PCOS.Most people can go on a diet and the weight drops off,me I would have to do the same plus run a marathon every day to achieve the same results:sad: Your other half must have been extremely worried when you was laid up and good for you to get someone in to help with the gardening:thumbsup:

I thought the pains in my knee was just Osteoarthritis so was using just Piroxicam Gel prescribed by my Dr but in the end it got worse.I went to see my Dr on December 13th and stopped most of my walking until January 1st.I spent most of Christmas stuck indoors while Mr Kandy went off walking every day on his own.I tried a little walk on Boxing Day but we had to turn back as it was too painful. We had to cancel going away and missed my friends 70th birthday party celebrations:sad:

So now it has been nearly two months since the worst time with the knee and it was the Podiatric Surgeon and my Dr who told me to keep walking or else as they said I would seize up completely. It is amazing what can be achieved through gritted teeth:biggrin:

@Kandy Thank you for your good wishes ... iqualmente as they say here (equally to you). :grphg:

I use Naproxen Gel and take soluble Paracetamol 1000mg as and when required, occasionally a 600mg Ibuprofen. I have to get up and walk about every 30 minutes or so. Being in hospital for 12 days helped with the weight loss and then on a walker for 6 weeks thereafter due to it being a non-cemented THR), t'other half had to learn how to fend for himself and the cats.
              :loll:

PS Meant to say I've tried, emu oil, special secret Welsh muscle oil and devil's claw amongst other lotions and potions and they are all a bunch of bunk!

@Victoria I am trying to cope with this pain but have to take Co Codamol at times bu then normally it is only a couple of tablets a day.I could take the full dose for three days but I don't want to start rattling:snorky: I hit the Tramxdol on the head as the Clinician said that all that drug does is works on the brain to make you forget you are in pain plus I would have to be weened off of it before I can have my foot sorted:sad: I will probably be glad of any painkilling drugs once my toe has been broken and the bone shaved if that is the route they take in the end:yikes:

Mr Kandy is going to have to look after me as I will be laid up for two weeks to begin with so will see how he copes doing the washing, ironing, cooking and housework while I spend my days:Wino::snorky: I might be having an Air Cast Boot so Mr Kandy reckons I shall become a storm trooper

I find if I buy my Devils Claw from Holland and Barratt the quality is good but this lot I got from Boots was cheaper so don't work as good:sad:

Have you been watching Taboo and Apple Tree Yard over in Portugal? The latter has a twist in it and ends tonight at 9pm over in in the U.K.

@Kandy We don't get the Beeb down here in the South as we are now out of radar of the satellite. Looked them up and sounds good, I'll see if t'other half can stream them or whatever it is called. :rolleyespink: We watch a lot in the evenings on Filmon like Blue Bloods, Drop Dead Diva, etc.

home from work today due to tons of snow falling during the overnight and continuing. have my work computer with me so I can still continue typing reports and get paid for sitting at home (have to be honest) . but in general do have lots of holiday time I could use to plug in if wanted. anyway, now its about 9:30AM, took garbage out, filled bird feeders outside, third cup of coffee, 2 hard boiled eggs eaten. Yesterday, went to my doctor for the annual physical, which turned out to be had not seen her for 2 years. anyway, the scale is very scary, so have to start on diet yesterday. went to the gym for any calorie burning machine I could step on.

We had a power cut at 4.10pm today and, of course you never know just how long they will last, so all computer work I'd been doing had to wait, luckily, I save my work as I go along so there was no disaster there.:snorky: But, of course, it brought knocks to my door with neighbours wondering if it was just their house that hadn't any power. Luckily, the power came back on at 455pm so all was well, but it made me wonder if it was due to the new house building site about half a mile away needing to put mains power into the site. While grabbing the chance to make a mug of tea, when the power came back on, I realised that it must be 20 years since the last power cut.:snorky:
