You'll have fun assembling it. I did both of mine myself. Each one took me about 8 hours. I'm glad your Dad is a willing accomplice. I wish I had had a second pair of hands when I was doing mine!

Have you decided exactly where it's going yet? Best orientation is east-west away from any shade. Make sure the base is completely square and level, measure the diagonals to check. Are you running in water and/or electrics - if not now maybe leave a hole in the base so you can easily do it later. I'm sure there are other things to think about too :)

JWK, my garden faces due south, it has uninterrupted sunlight from east to west. I've laid out the foundations running north/south. I have water/electric approximately 4-5 meters away so if I need to connect these to the greenhouse it shouldn't be a problem. I've left an access hole in the foundations just incase

I've checked and double checked the foundations and they are spot on. The bricklayer is coming tomorrow( weather permitting) to build up the block work. I thought about doing it myself but thought better of it as I want the two courses perfect.

That's the same as me - the layout of my plot gave me little choice.

Sounds like you have given everything very careful thought. Just another thing to consider when the growing season gets going ... sunshine is good but it can get too hot very quickly inside a greenhouse. Most of us have to apply shading (that whitewash stuff you brush on) or as I've started to do is drape some old bamboo blinds over the roof. The most important thing is to get a max/min thermometer so you can track the temps, I have a wireless one with a sensor in the greenhouse and the base station in the house. It's the most important thing I do in the morning, checking the overnight low, then coming home from work - ignore the wife and rush past to check the temp high - welcome to the world of obsessive gardeners !

I see you have already started:

Yes I will be investing in max/min thermometer. I remember as a child when we would go to visit my Grandparents, one of the first things my brother and I would do is rush to the greenhouse to see what temperature it was in there. Sometimes it was up over 100f, obviously in the summer. The smell of creosote, it was a timber framed greenhouse and the smell of tomato plants it was the most wonderful of aroma's.

I use the automatic Window vent openers but I don't connect them until the summer as I try to retain as much heat as possible in the spring and fall. I have dc powered fans that keep thre air circulating as well.

I wish I was there to give a hand with the assembly. I really enjoy that type of play. :)

Oh well, I've read, re-read and read the assembly instructions it looks a piece of cake to put together NOT!!!! Lol. I was surprised, it all came delivered in 2 long narrow boxes with 5 boxes of glass and the louvre window came separately. I'm gutted I have four, 12 hour shift ahead of me 2 days then 2 nights then 12 glorious wonderful fabulous days off work to set up my first greenhouse
