Thanks Joolz, I've found the thread and reading through. Grow you own tobacco. Good read :blue thumb: No worries about seed I'll get some myself, other half and my grandfather will be impressed with this!

So are they restricting the brands as well?

I think they are struggling to produced the new stock of most brands quick enough so we have product gaps in our cabinets, not sure if its a problem just from our supplier thou, maybe tescos and huge retailers will be 1st on list for new stock until demand can be filled on other retail planograms.
I might grow some this yr,bees love the flowers too :)

That's crazy, you would of thought they'd be on the same page as the government? Bet grow your own will be massive this year.

Did you (or anyone else who tried it) find one type better than the other out of burley, golden vag and the other one?

I grew different varieties to blend them if i wanted too,ive never searched amber leaf seed so no idea what blend of leaves that is..one to google :)
Burley is a stronger taste as i remember so maybe more on the par as marlboro maybe,no of them will taste like shop bought as there are no added chemicals in the process

I pay £3.99 for 12.5g of Gold Leaf, or £7.85 for the 25g pouch. The shop owner reckons the 30g pouch will be around £9.25.

Or new 30g gold leaf are now more expensive than amber & GV!!,no idea if thats a pricing fault or if its now going to be the same everywhere,im going into town tomo so im going to do some quizzing in tesco to compare their prices on their stock.

I'm actually wondering whether to grow it in the garden or the allotment.. think I'll go with garden first off. A) so I can see how it does/if I can grow it B) Just incase it's frowned upon on the lotties.
If I can grow it successfully in the garden I'll have a bash at it on the lottie regardless of peoples' opinions next year. Hoping to get my plot under control first and I think it'll be too small for 5ft tall plants as it's already laid out in 5ft wide beds. There is however, a plot opposite that has not got beds..soo see how I'll do.

I have ordered Burley from Chiltern seeds £2.22 (not sure how many)
500 golden vag seeds for £3.00 from uktobaccoseeds.co.uk
no idea if thats good or bad so.. anyhoo we'll see.
