Home made fudge?

I like the sound of that - is it easy to make?

 

I'm hoping that @CanadianLori will explain how it is made. I've tried it a couple of times and failed miserably! It had the consistency of treacle!

 

Fairly easy. I found that it is very important to have a candy thermometer. Yes, you can use the cold glass of water and drop bits in it to see what stage it has cooked up to but I have found it to be hit and miss. I have two regular thermometers and my new favourite is a digital that beeps at whatever temperature I preset. Candy making for dummies I guess

 

@wiseowl I have a kitchenaid mixer too. Mine has the lever to raise and lower the bowl instead of tilting the head. I also bought attachments for it over the years. Got the slicers and graters and pasta makers etc. Lots of fun making pasta too. Hmmm, haven't done that in awhile - maybe I'll get at it in the next few days. food food food - I guess I am foodie

 

@clanless those pies look lovely, I see you even brushed them with an egg wash, good for you. they look good.

went to my doctor the other day, got on the scale, have to diet badly. so no baking for a while. that's ok. plenty of pancakes left for husband to eat, or he can go get donuts.

 

I keep forgetting to get the yellow snowdrop, and just saw there is a pink type. have to find it for my fall list. we have tons of white ones.

Admin day in the house of "M" today (aka boring, boring, boring, b.o.r.i.n.g. BORING!)
I was rewarded with two lovely fresh eggs from the girls today ... good to see they are back in action following their winter rest

Ooh those pasties look so good!

I made a rhubarb crumble, a big cake with vanilla frosting and cherry muffins yesterday. Nicked my mother's recipe for chicken and sweetcorn soup and made that in the slow cooker, tastes even better today! Just had our valentines regular of pepper steaks too. Yum! I'm going to put on a few stone before I even go on holidays

 

I have been making Kale soup. Love it, chicken stock, carrot, garlic, 3 cups of Kale, smidget of tomato paste, bay leaf, one diced onion, 1/2 cup of small pasta. yummy.

 

Really lovely day for me today.
I was taken out for a late lunch time meal to a quaint country pub (all beams with dried hops hanging from them). The food was extremely generous in portion, beautifully cooked and very scrummy! As is my way, when ever I go somewhere to eat, I always try and find something on the menu I have never tasted before. Today it was creamed spinach - cor that was absolutely the best way to eat spinach
I was wined and dined courtesy of my son! He even left his phone at home so he could give me his undivided attention (how wonderful is that!?) I am blessed

 

Do you have a 'fool proof' fudge recipe - that a total novice like me can't mess up ?
