Mole Hills

Hi All

Would Mole hills make a good soil improver? The hills I see always look so good compared to my chalky allotment.

Mole activity only improves the soil in terms of the texture. Them pesky critters do a fine job of working into a fine tilth while they ruin the garden with their infernal tunnelling .The nutrients will be whatever is in the soil to begin with. By all means use it on your allotment if the 'moled' earth looks better than what you've got.

 

Or import moles into your allotment.

 

Now there's an idea !!
