      I don't understand a word of what's been said. So can somebody tell me how to go straight to the old forum please.

        @Sheal

        Just click on 'Forums' :noidea: although I rarely bother with that. I just use 'Watched Threads' or 'New Posts' :)

            As a punter I would be much more likely to register to an interesting forum debate, than to a staid, Flowers, Veg, Hothouse list
            I am OK as I just set to stay on the original, but as a new possible subscriber, I would glance and go elsewhere
            I would make more sense to have the forums as your (OUR) HOME PAGE

              I also think that the Forums page is a more welcoming entrance to a new site . I also think there are too many forums . Some have not been visited for years !
              Now Anthony asked this , but I can't see the answer . What are the numbers down the LH side on the new front page, and the orange highlight is :scratch:

                I'm a little bit divided as regards the change. On the positive side, I can see the reasons the changes have been made.

                On the negative side, it does seem less friendly, and not all new posts come up on the Home Page list. This does make the forum seem less active. I could well imagine it leading to a decline in posting.

                As others have asked, what are the numbers down the left hand side?

                  What are the strange zero and ones digits on the Home page? It looks like some binary code :what:

                    I remember he said that the orange were 'stickies' and I would guess that the numbers down the left are how many are watching that thread (at the current time) - but not sure about that.

                        I haven't noticed any difference at all. This is testament to the careful planning and execution of changes made by the trusty GC team. If the changes make things better for some, while not actually breaking anything for others, that's basically what a developer aims for in his/her daily work.

                        Or in short, well done.

                          One question...why have notifications stopped arriving since the change? Do I need to change some setting or other?

                            the 0's are "like" column, however as not all threads have likes i will modify the column to include the word likes, which isnt obvious unless filtering by likes.

                            also added a block to the page to link direct to forum.

                              I understand why the homepage has changed but I don't understand the "likes" column. It's going to put off people reading a thread if it hasn't got any likes, which to me, they are the more important posts asking for advice. If anything it should be the most recent posts that are displayed there? Just my take on it :)
