I spoke too soon yesterday as power went off at just after 7pm and stayed off for 5 hours. Went to bed as house got very cold and read my book by candlelight - which was actually quite nice.

Beautiful earlier today, but clouded over now and trees beginning to stir. Forecast says we are in for another blow over weekend,so I guess I won't be cycling or kayaking.

It stayed dry today - just! The sun tried to break through for a while but was soon blotted out by heavy grey clouds. Not looking forward to the deluge of rain we're promised tomorrow but up 'til now we've had quite a dry autumn and winter here. 3C/37F

Hmm, the BBC has just warned of a Storm Ewan due sometime in the next few days. So far the prognosis is that it won't be as severe as Storm Doris was, and also that Ireland and Scotland will bear the main brunt.:dunno::snorky:

The forecast day of rain didn't materialise. It's about time I stopped reading other forecasts and trusted my own! :) Anyway, we had some heavy rain in the early hours but the rest of the day was dry and the sun came out to play. There was also a chilly breeze even though the thermometer was up to 8C/46F.

I think the BBC are wrong and it will sweep south of the country, we'll see.

Yesterday was a nice sunny day until lunchtime - but quite windy, then cloudy all afternoon. I hope we shall have sun again today  but they've forecast possible showers.

Windless and grey here until early afternoon followed by drizzle. The sky started to clear just before dusk so hopefully a better day tomorrow, 5C/41F. It's looking good for the rest of the week, fingers crossed! :fingers crossed:
