Yesterday and today I laid the base of my new 8x12 GH. It was hard to level it since my back garden is slightly sloped.

Potting up seedlings of castilleja with stray grass plants, for them to parasitise on. They will probably fail, but worth a try!
Also potting cardiocrinum seedlings individually. They've germinated like cress (after >12 months). Still 2 more potfuls to do...

Started giving the greenhouse glass its annual clean and wash down today. It's a fiddly job, as every year some of the panes have to be removed so I can scrape out any moss growing under the edges, before washing and replacing them.

I've been at it all day and it's about three quarters done now, so one more good session later in the week should finish it.

Only cut my finger once while I was doing it too. :ouch1: :fingers crossed:

How about one of the small Japanese Acers @wiseowl ? Most will put up with permanent shade but don't like a windy situation.

What about Hakonechloa macra 'All Gold' (Japanese forest grass). It doesn't grow very tall but suits a dark windy spot and will move with the wind. There are other grasses that look good in the wind (most do) but I'm not sure which like shade.

I haven't checked where you can buy it.

Just as I was heading for Manchester this morning a very early morning Courier turned up with the 9 Eremurus "Cleopatra" bare roots that I'd ordered from Parkers. That got me into Manchester just before the traffic started to pick up.:phew: At lunch time I decided to "pop into" a nearby Plant Nursery to get some agricultural grit to help plant the Eremurus some time this week, which actually turned into a fight to get there through the traffic.:wallbanging::gaah:
Just as I got the 6 bags of grit, which were outside, on the trolley the Heavens opened up and I got drenched by rain and Hail that was torrential:wallbanging:. My hair is "Ash Blonde":heehee: anyway but the Hail was so heavy that I ended up looking like a walking Snowman. So I drove back into Manchester drenched, in a suit, and defrosting all over the interior of the car.. Luckily, I keep a spare Suit, and everything else at work so I was able to dry off in the Office and change into dry clothes again, but the looks from people at work as I squelched my way to the Office was something to be seen.:heehee:
On getting back home eventually, I found the Postman had stuffed my Mail Box with a Pressurised Hand Sprayer that I ordered for pampering the indoor plants, some Allium Caeruleum, 9 Echinacea bare roots, and a bottle of Titebond III waterproof wood glue. He/she must have had a Degree in packing to get that much in my Mail Box:love30::heehee:

No it's not worth the risk @wiseowl, I've tried it and lost two in the past and they were north-west facing not east.
