Thanks for the heads up, Roders!! On the glum side it's gone back to 30 minutes duration again after the few 1 hour programs.
Thanks Roders Slightly off topic was Big Dreams, Small Spaces on tonight? Couldn't find it on iplayer down t'other halfs earlier.
I only started watching Beechgrove a couple of weeks ago on youtube, I like the info but I'm not keen on the presenters
Beechgrove is usually a couple of weeks later, probably due to the later start of warmer seasons in Scotland.
I would sort of agree re some of the presenters except for Carol Baxter. I have actually had the pleasure of meeting her. She came to visit me years and years ago after my garden had been completely decimated after The River Clyde decided to rise 27ft above normal height and flowed through my garden at speed. She was so very nice, encouraging and sympathetic. The rest of the presenters I'm not quite so keen on as they are a bit too hoochter choochterish (overly Scottish!) which I'm not convinced is exactly how they are in real life (a la Cilla Black who wasn't nearly so Liverpuddlian as she made out). I'm a Scot myself living in Scotland and find them a bit cringe making. Think most of the gardening advice is pretty good tho and realistic, Gardeners World can be a bit " in an ideal world/climate" making it all but impossible for us mere mortals to achieve what we are told is achieveable.
I also was disappointed, thinking we were getting our hour back. Regarding Beechgrove which I also love ,there is a place for both , we are lucky at least it's gardening . It is not a competition ,they both have so much to offer. What I like is it constantly reminds us of what we should be doing and when ,although Scotland is that bit behind. We have Scottish members.
Oh, that sounds terrible what happened to your garden Silu :( very nice of her to come visit though and she's my favourite out of them, I think it's Jim I'm not too keen on. He is very "hoochter choochterish" as you put it! Yes, Gardeners World is a bit too ideal but I did find the hour long shows had a slight bit more detail.. maybe to bulk it out? but that's not a bad thing
