Forewarning, the journalist in this video swears like a trooper and doesn't care about offending anyone no matter how big they think they are, but he also generally speaks the truth.

I cannot believe that the board members at Audi would be so stupid, as you will see in this video

I really like him - you get the truth and a laugh at the same time.

It is almost beyond believable that those three senior board members, including the CEO, gave that instruction in writing at the time when the whole thing was escalating in the US.

VAG have some serious problems, clearly, and if they don't get their act together sharpish we could see their demise!

That's greed for you, they can't see the wood for the tree, didn't they say it was someone writing the software and not the bosses as it started? now it's all coming out :snorky:
There not the only company doing it and they wouldn't be the last, just look back and from 2008 all the things that have come to light :)

At least being honest you can hold your head up high and get respect :Wino:but some people learn the hard way :snorky:

Us programmers always get the blame. Even if we object to what we've been asked to do, the bosses have the power to decide if we get paid or not.

I didn't write the software for any ecus by the way.

But it now shows that the bosses knew from the start what was going on, if that video is true about the paper from boss in the safe

I wasn't blaming anyone who rights the software as they do what they are toled to do from the man/woman from above

They always do. Us programmers can't be bothered doing anything unnecessary. And while none of us are perfect and we all inevitably write the occasional piece of erroneous code, we don't do it on purpose, and we tend not to ignore obvious faults (the average programmer gets very frustrated if something obvious is ignored). All this means that for me, as a programmer of more than 2 decades commercial experience, as soon as news breaks of such a scandal, I would automatically take it for granted that management not only knew about it, but commissioned it.

That could just be true. To add to their problems, I read today that Audi have a big recall for some of their cars. Not in the Eu as yet though as I understand things.

One thing is for sure, I think that John Cadogan is bang on the money when he says that they will be looking for a new CEO before too long.
