Congratulations, SM, on your very first seedling.

I feel like that every Spring, SM, when looking at the borders and seeing the shoots starting to poke out of the ground.:snorky:

Goodness gracious!! That's the spitting image of me, the only difference is my forehead is slightly more squashed and I have more hair sticking out of my ears, it's a very canny resemblance :heehee:

On a slightly different note, I bought 2 auto window openers today from EBay, thermofor brand £42 for the 2 with delivery . I called to my local garden centre today to see how much they were, £29.99 each and they were made in China no brand name and the boxes were all water damaged

I used to shade the greenhouse when I was in Essex, I used green shade netting fixed to the inside on the south side. I used to put it up towards the end of May and take it down September.
In Devon I've not needed to use shading, the auto vents have been sufficient. Would love to have a summer when |I needed to get the shading out.
What I do do is use agricultural fleece a couple of thicknesses, over young seedlings and plants that I move from the house for the summer, this goes over them for about week.
I always have a radio with me generally Radio 4.

Naming plants is quite acceptable although I usually reserve that for perennials. I have a prayer plant in the kitchen that I call Deuteronomy.... :)

I've just taken a peek at the propagates and lots more little tomato plants have appeared. How big do I leave them in the individual growing cells before I move them into pots of their own??? 2 of my cucumbers have just started to make an appearance too :hapydancsmil:

My cucumbers have just started to break through the soil, no sign of the chilli seeds yet!!! On a positive note my auto window openers arrived today. I'm a happy man. Today, instead of going to the gym I climbed up Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons it's a heck of a climb it took about an hour. Unfortunately it was so misty/foggy at the summit you couldn't see more than 20 meters. Good day out I really enjoyed
