            Here is what I'm growing this year:

            [IMG]

            From left to right:

            1. Morrisons "grape" tomato;
            2. Indigo Rose;
            3. Tumbling Tom;
            4. Morrisons "beefsteak" tomato;
            5. Giganteum;

            The first three were sown on 15th February, the latter two were sown seven days later.

            Of the five, Indigo Rose is by far the tastiest - it has a savoury umami taste that is very hard to describe.

            Grown by a fellow member last year, this what they look like:

            I intend to use them in order to augment the Tumbling Toms.

              Going through my seeds ready to sow, I'm not sure what's best for outdoors/indoors or whether to sow them all? Some will go in a plastic walk-in (in the ground) and pots on the patio and some will be in a polytunnel on the allotment.

              Dancing with Smurfs, Latah, Super Marmande, Brown sugar, Black Russian, German Lunch Box, Black Icicle Fantastic, Money Maker, Striped Stuffer, Yellow Pear, Orange Banana, Heartbreaker Vita F1, Minibel, Roma and then San Marzano is coming in the post.

              I've also got 100's and 1000's and Tumbling Tom Red which will be going in hanging baskets for definite.

              Any thoughts please :)

                  I'd delay sowing for outdoor varieties such as San marzano & Roma till the middle of April - unless you are putting them in your polytunnnel, then maybe delay till the end of the month.

                  I know you have the seed but it's really not worth growing MoneyMaker the taste is bland.

                      Ooh ok noted, thanks! I think most are cherry types or small plum so I'm guessing they'll be ok for outside in pots :dunno: I'll hold off on them anyways. I'd rather keep most of them at home than on the plot but I'll chuck roma and San Marzano in the poly. I still got golden sunrise and gardener's delight seed too but I didn't like them last year, no flavour really so not bothering with them.

                        Ditto, I have given up on them both. At one time Gardener's Delight was my favourite 'must grow variety' but the seed stock has degenerated over the years and is now terrible.

                          This year's list for me is Super Roma, Super Sweet 100, Black Cherry, Craigella and Mrs Maxwell's beefsteak. Fingers crossed!
