WHAT JOBS ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY - 2017

Today I am treating one side of the the shed and several panels on 2 fences where the roses & clematis grow up. if I leave it much longer then I will not be able to get to fence for the climbers. The rest of shed & fences can then be done at my leisure preferably when it is warm & sunny.
Today it is sunny but I am on the wrong side of shed so in the shade and it feels a bit chilly in the wind ,must be getting soft. Cup of rosy lee now and then decide if to carry on and do another side of the shed or do some potting.

 

Thanks @"M" @wiseowl , feel a little better today and was outside in the sun at 7am, swept all the paths up where I'd been making a mess and raked rubbish off the grass. "LawnScience" came and fed, weeded the lawn etc. Emptied 5 bags of manure onto the "Sunny Border" which is now almost empty and "made up" the polythene cloche I got from poundland.

Too cold and windy to stay outside today. Got a £50 waitrose garden voucher from my mum for my upcoming birthday, so going to order something nice as there is 20% off until Sunday

 

Horrible up here today .... and wind and quite cold. Feeding the birds is all I've done today. Not strictly speaking gardening.

Took one of my car's for its MOT and popped into hardware store ( conveniently located opposite garage). Bought something I can't pronounce but the Bee I was following around the garden centre section liked it

 

Planting out sweet peas, weeding, dead heading and beginning to harden off some of the over wintered plants from the greenhouse.

 

Ooh is it time to do that? Ive got some I've been growing in the greenhouse-do they need hardening off first or ok to go straight out?

 

I'd harden them off @Snorky85 but I'm in wet and windy Wales..

Oh I feel so lazy compared.. not done much except sown seeds in the house :( went up the plot, dropped off a plank and 5 bags of my dad's lawn clippings, chucked 2 bags over the raspberries, rhubarb and blackcurrant. Weed seedlings are germinating up there.. am I being fooled into thinking it's time to direct sow?!

 

Wet and windy here too @Linz I'll put them into the cold frame for a week or so. Been so eager to get going today.

Moved the "crocosmia/iris?!" Lol. Dug up the azalea and will put that in a pot to see if it survives.

Dug up some bits of cotoneaster that were growing in the wrong place. Pulled out roots where I'd dug out stumps and spread more manure over beds.

 

Well, been quite busy this week (in fact too busy to update you all!)

Wednesday I did the first mow of the year. Pleased that the mower started, although a little reluctant. It took 2.5 hours to cut, but looks so much better now.

Thursday was a little weeding, and then 3.5 hours of painting the garage door (having scrubbed it down on Wednesday). Boy, do my thighs ache after all of that "bend ze nees!"!

Yesterday was starting on the digging out of a second veg bed. Two large 40l tubs of sand/soil removed, and used to fill excavation craters made by Izzy, and dips in the grass made by mouse-runs and mole channels.

Today it's pouring with rain, so staying inside watching the super Saturday rugby, and wondering what to do with those sprouting seeds....
